Bishop Lamont – “Don’t Stop” feat. Mopreme Shakur (Video)
Bishop Lamont teamed up with Mopreme Shakur (stepbrother of Tupac Shakur; a.k.a. Mocedes, the rapper on the Tony Toni Tone joint “Feels Good” back in the day) to put out a summer time banger! Peep the video for the single off Bishop Lamont’s street release “The Layover” (due out September 2012). Also, be on the lookout for his full-length album “The Reformation.” Good to see Bishop Lamont still in the game. We posted about a hot track he was on a while ago here.
West Coast Rapper/actor/entrepreneur Bishop Lamont (born Philip Martin) lives his grind like it’s religion (apropos, as his aunt is a minister). Now, that is not to say he is religious… but his grind is divine! The Carson, California, native has been penning rhymes that combine street smarts, politics, religion, and social commentary for years. His industry cred could be built on that alone, but this standout has much more on the record to his credit…a lot of credits! He’s worked on album music with Warren G, produced music for video games and film, and landed major roles in movie starring Master P, Christian Audigier, Tom Sizemore, and Damon Whitaker. He’s had fun making music for TV, as well; most notably with Rob Dyrdek (as Bobby Light) on MTV’s “Rob & Big.” Moreover, Bishop Lamont has already had the “major record deal,” choosing to leave Aftermath Records (home to 50 Cent and Eminiem) after a five-year stint to be more active and release more heat to the streets. The man’s been busy…looking only to get busier. Watch your back if you’re whack!
