After More Than 20 Years, “Tales From The Hood” Gets A Sequel (Trailer)
Wow! Spike Lee and the original creators are back with “Tales From The Hood”… TWO! Remember the first one, with mad creepy Mr. Simms, played by Clarence Williams III? Well, Mr. Simms is back… played by Keith David; who is acting just as creepy, just as mad, and not playing with y’all!
In the wake of the success of Jordan Peele’s “Get Out,” studios have been racing to make their own “socially aware†genre films. While most will miss the point completely, there’s one in the works that’s perfectly primed for a revival. Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott‘s 1995 “Tales From The Hood” was hugely ahead of its time, putting an urban spin on “Tales From the Crypt†and sharing several stories in what is easily one of the best anthology films ever made. Now, 20 years later, it’s getting a much-needed sequel – on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and On Demand on October 2, 2018.
“Tales from the Hood 2” introduces the audience to four new dreadful short tales, that follow the original film’s cult classic roots. Sparked with both humor and terror, this brand new movie is said to be filled with even more gritty social commentary and cultural subtext that will provoke and haunt viewers, while putting them on the edge of their seats.
