The way it started…was definitely ‘alternative’… then seconds later, BOOM! Producer Preemo drops in with his trademark hook-sample scratches and it’s so on! Check out Malaysian singer Yuna’s “Places To Go†above, and read what she has to say about all this below.
“Places to Go†is a song about when you’re growing into the person that you’re meant to be. Sometimes you go through all these things that will change you as a person and you find it hard to deal with all of these challenges. I was truly honored to work with legendary DJ and producer DJ Premier. I still can’t believe I have a track with Premier. It really is one of the best songs I’ve written in a long time.

Malaysian-born synth singer YUNA is releasing her “Sixth Street” EP on May 7, 2013. This is a track off it – “Let Love Come Through” featuring rhymes from Kyle.
“Sixth Street” is probably a new chapter for me. All of the songs were written in my apartment where I’m most comfortable, and at that point I understood who I was and knew what I was feeling about life.

Influenced by his recent trip to Malabo Equatorial Guinea, Africa, producer/emcee MeLo-X is crafting a very unique Hip-Hop/R&B/Soul experience to be manifested in the form of his upcoming album “Zulu Guru” (due out October 15, 2012). This work will be his first collaborative effort with singer/songwriter Jesse Boykins III. For this post, we share a MeLo-X remix of “Live Your Life” (Motherland God Mix, with vocals by Yuna) that demonstrates his new musical direction. Malaysian artist Yuna dropped this new single produced by Pharrell called “Live Your Life” back in January & since then I’ve had it on repeat quite a few times in one of my itunes playlists. It’s such a really dope song that you subconsciously find yourself hitting repeat on it. Now Yuna is going to have us hitting repeat with this cool new video for “Live Your Life” that will appear on her upcoming album due this April on the new FADER label. Make sure yall check for it….

This song is so dope I went ahead & purchased it. I’m not that familiar with Malaysian artist Yuna, but after seeing a tweet about this song on the new Fader label I found it to be a pretty dope discovery. I wasn’t even fully aware that FADER had a music label until now either…..
