The 2.0 Boys Take Detroit: Eminem, SlaughterHouse, & Yelawolf (Video)

The Shady 2.0 boys (Eminem, SlaughterHouse and Yelawolf) gathered for one night to perform “2.0 Boys” together for the first and only time in Em’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

Eminem x Yelawolf Cover Vibe Magazine’s Year End Issue

Eminem & Yelawolf are the cover subjects of Vibe Magazine’s year end issue that hits newsstands December 6th. A second cover for the magazine will feature T.I. later. This is great timing for Yelawolf as he’s about to drop his debut album “Radioactive” on Eminem’s Shady 2.0. I’m not surprised because unlike many other rappers in the game who supposedly sign artists, Eminem has historically done a great job in helping his artists succeed. In the Vibe Magazine article they speak on everything from the issue of race, rappers using the N-word, & how they both dealt with drug addition in their lives. Check out excerpts from the interview below…

Yelawolf Talks Occupy Wallstreet (Video)

While out on his “Hard White” Tour in preparation for his upcoming album release on Eminem’s Shady Records, Yelawolf spoke on the OccupyWall Street movement that’s engulfing the entire country right now. I wasn’t surprised to hear Yelawolf’s response in this interview as he’s always came off to me as the type of dude who is very much in tune to what’s going on in the world unlike most of that fake crap you see most rappers talk about day in & day out.

Studio Sessions: Slaughterhouse Records ‘The Illest’ In Atlanta (Video)

Some behind the scenes footage of the Slaughterhouse gang while they were recording a new track called ‘The Illest’ here in Atlanta several days back. This particular track bangs & the verses are “ill”. Crooked I, Royce Da 5’9, Joe Budden, & Joell Ortiz do what they do best while they appear to have some friendly support in the studio from DJ Green Lantern, Justus League, Yelawolf, & a few others who are hanging in the studio during the recording process.

Yelawolf Speaks On White Rappers Using The N-Word (Video)

This is a stance I’d like to see more white people take on this topic. Yelawolf shed so light on a topic that is sensitive and addressed it in an adult and frank way. Kudos.

Yelawolf – “No Hands” (Video)

This joint bangs! I need an MP3 of this joint so I can bang it on the radio show. Here’s more info on this joint from ya boy “Catfish Billy” below…

“The official music video for the Yelawolf song “No Hands” off of his upcoming album, Radioactive. Inspired by Ubisoft’s Driver San Francisco video game, the music video was shot at several of San Francisco’s landmark locations and features Yelawolf driving the real-life Driver car throughout the City by the Bay. OkayPlayerTV: The Roots Picnic (Video)

Although there were plenty of videos that surfaced on the web focusing on Philly’s largest summer festival & the many performers that graced the stage, The Roots crew’s Okayplayer team dropped a high quality recap over the weekend. As a Philly native it’s amazing for me to see what the The Roots annual picnic on Festival Pier on Penn’s Landing has grown into. The Roots continue to make me proud to be from Philly not only for the music they present to the world, but in the many ways they reach back for Philly artists, Philly fans, the city, & the community at large. Check out the video recap….Okay Player?

Rittz – ‘White Jesus’ (Video)

To be honest I’m not that familiar with Rittz’s music, but I’ve seen him around Atlanta alot before I even knew he was a rap artist. I don’t know him personally but he was one of those characters that you’d see in the crowd, but didn’t really know his angle. His distinctive style of dress & overflowing locks coming out of the skully cap made him stand out. To sum it all up he pretty much looks like a thugged out ‘White Jesus’. This is the title track from his new project with the video directed by Yelawolf. The video is creatively done & the song sounds pretty cool utilizing that double time rhyme style in which only the most skilled southern emcees can manuever with the utmost fluidity. It’s true that Jesus was Black & could walk on water, but Rittz is ‘White Jesus’….a southern emcee with flow.

The 2011 XXL Magazine Freshmen Roundtable Discussion (Video)

It’s easy for me to understand what the staff at XXL magazine have been doing recently with their freshman covers as of late. I said this a while ago on my twitter page that in making their choices for their annual freshmen cover they are choosing newcomers in the game with their own particular fanbase. I equally applaud XXL magazine for fully taking advantage with these video freestyles & new roundtable discussions. Many of these young guys make some great points about what they need to do from here on out & also rehash a few funny stories.

New Music: Eminem feat. SlaughterHouse & Yelawolf – ‘2.0 Boys’

EMINEM FEAT. SLAUGHTERHOUSE & YELAWOLF – 2.0 BOYS

Eminem, SlaughterHouse & Yelawolf On The Cover Of XXL Magazine

Looking forward to see what Eminem can do with all of these guys careers. Hip Hop is definitely changing & getting more lyrical, but will the mainstream folks get on board is the question. If they take an NWA approach of making the mainstream crossover to them then I think they’ll be fine. SLAUGHTERHOOOOOOUSE!!

Eminem is Winning!!! Wack rap artists step to the f*ckn side!! SlaughterHouse?! Yelawolf?! That’s big! Damn it’s not even fair! SHEEHZ!!!!

From MTV News:

Eminem is back in more ways than one. The Detroit lyricist is reviving his Shady Records company, and Wednesday (January 12) he announced the signing of two new acts: underground supergroup Slaughterhouse and upstart rapper Yelawolf. Cashis and D-12 remain on the roster, but Em made no secret of wanting to bring new life to his company.

“Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse, it’s kinda phase two of Shady,” Eminem explained in a statement. “It’s the new generation of Shady Records, and as we’re trying to rebuild our label, it’s exciting for hip-hop, and with all of these forces coming together and with what everybody’s capable of on the mic, it’s gonna be fun.”
