VICE: Fresh Off The Boat With Eddie Huang – Detroit (Video)
VICE goes all over the world to bring the world to you. Perspective is the result. Every episode should leave you saying to yourself, “I never thought about that place like that.” This three-part episode of ‘Fresh Off The Boat With Eddie Huang‘ on Detroit is no exception. Sharing burgers and burdens of the large U.S. city, visiting throngs of Middle Easterners in the American Midwest, and more. Part 1 above; 2 and 3 after the jump.
The Electric Superbike Of The Future (Video)
Conventional combustion engine motorcycles vs. Mission Motorcycle’s electric superbike. Way less mechanical noise with much the same speed, Mission’s RS model (above) is a limited-edition, top-end bike.
The RS’s electric motor produces a huge-but-not-unheard-of 160 horsepower; the 130 foot-pounds of torque puts it at least in the superbike world. Even then, the bike’s lack of a transmission means going from zero to 60, which takes less than three seconds, requires nary a shift. Hitting its limited top speed of 150 miles an hour requires little more than twisting the throttle and holding on.

For $58,999, you get the best suspension, carbon wheels, and perhaps the most advanced gauge, navigation, and telemetry system available on a bike. It’s worth the money, if you have it. Today’s concept is almost as good as current gas-powered peers… almost…
VICE: The Florida Mandingos (Documentary) [NSFW]
Although swinging culture in Atlanta is something I’m told is growing I can readily admit it’s a lifestyle that’s not for me. The racial element to interracial swinging is also one that is not that easy for many to comprehend as well, but in this ‘Vice Guide To Sex’ documentary we ran across featuring a Florida man by the name of Art Hammer, he attempts put into perspective as to why any man would be comfortable with another man having sex with his wife & the racial elments of the lifestyle. VICE reporter Alex Miller covers all the kinky angles for this story for VBS.TV. Although this is a news piece some of the video & content, although blurred out, is still strong & graphic so therefore it may Not be Safe For Work.
“VICE follows Art on a road trip leading up to a ‘Hot Chocolate’ party he’s hosting at a purpose built sex bungalow called the Shangri Lust. Along the way we meet the key players who make up the lifestyle: the insatiable wives and their cuckolded white husbands obsessed with sex with black men, and Art’s A-team, the crème de la crème of [The Florida] Mandingos.”

VICE: Ground Zero – Mali (Video)
This is the story of the Battle for Gao, the biggest city in Northern Mali. The French used to rule the region. They left. Militant extremist factions like Al Qaeda moved in… banned music and booze and basically anything they call “sin” and instituted HARSH punishments for violators and martial law. It’s Jihad on steroids on steroids. It’s just wrong. The Malian-French alliance forces are trying to stop this; but can they? VICE went over to give us an up close look… and some answers.

VICE: The Japanese Love Industry (Video)
‘In a society that commoditizes everything, sex sells, and the Japanese are buying!’
– Ryan Duffy, VICE
VICE with another very interesting expo. We posted the one on successful women ‘hiring out’ for boyfriends a short while ago. So, what might happen to a society that, on the whole, does more ‘microwave dating’ than mating and creating families? VIBE found an answer… Less focus on family, and more focus on buying, has left Japan a nation that is dying.
‘Japan is a country that is dying—literally. Japan has more people over the age of 65 and the smallest number of people under the age of 15 in the world. It has the fastest negative population growth in the world, and that’s because hardly anyone is having babies. In these difficult times, the Japanese are putting marriage and families on the back burner and seeking recreational love and affection as a form of cheap escape with no strings attached. We sent Ryan Duffy to investigate this phenomenon, which led him to Tokyo’s cuddle cafes and Yakuza-sponsored prostitution rings.’

VICE: Black Bike Week (Video)
“We call it Black Bike Week. Whether you’re Black, White, Asian, Chinese, or Japanese, we don’t give a f**k! We ridin’!”
VICE covers the annual Black Bike Week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, over Memorial Day weekend. Half a million Black (mostly) bikers and event go-ers gather for several days of riding and partying… and traffic-stopping flossing and bike stunts up and down the seafront strip.
And…
‘Hordes of women—known as “huggers”—also flock to Myrtle Beach for the event, hoping to be picked up for a ride, and maybe something more. A girl will often perform the “pillion clapping” move as a passenger—essentially twerking on the back of the bike. Unfortunately, the combination of partying and biking without a helmet isn’t an especially safe one, and every year there are people who don’t make it home. The event also attracts a ton of prostitutes, but more and more women are starting to ride their own bikes and each year an increasing number of female biker gangs show up for the party.’
– VICE
Sigh… if there was a seedy side to this week of debauchery, you know VICE would expose it. Let’s watch and learn… about that ‘clapping’ thing, too.
VICE: Japanese Boyfriends For Hire (Video)
“In Japan, it’s not uncommon for successful women to pay attractive young men huge sums of money for a few cocktails and an hour of platonic companionship. VICE in conjunction with Schweppes sends correspondent Joel Cornell to Shibuya to explore this strange world and to find out if he can cut it as a professional boyfriend for hire.”

The Gun That Aims Itself: New Smart ‘Robo-Rifle’ Technology Can Turn Anyone Into Skilled Snipers (Video)
Texas-based TrackingPoint Solutions has released the first ever precision-guided firearm (PGF) – basically a long-range, laser-guided robo-rifle. Soon beginners will be endowed with the kill-at-will skill of trained snipers (e.g. one-shot kills at extreme distances) in no time! Talk about taking gun control in a whole other direction! Well… TrackingPoint CEO Jason Schauble refers to it as a step in the evolution of firearms. Um, yeah.
Watch the video and ask yourself this question: Has killing become too easy?

VICE: Ground Zero Syria (Video)
I don’t have the words. VICE brings us another necessary wake-up call about the horrors of human existence. This time: Syria’s civil war.
In 2012 VICE commissioned photographer and videographer Robert King to document the civil war that has been ravaging Syria for the past two years. Largely based on Aleppo, Robert’s footage of the violent conflict that continues to unfold in the region is perhaps one of the most thorough and brutally honest documents of a war that is increasingly destabilizing the Middle East as it spills over into neighboring Turkey and Lebanon. This full-length version of Ground Zero: Syria combines all six parts of our series to offer a startling glimpse into a chaotic war with no clear end in sight.
The documentary episode “Ground Zero Syria” (Chapter 1) starts with Part 1 embedded above. All the other videos in this 6-part series are embedded after the jump.
WARNING: EXTREMELY GRAPHIC, DISTURBING, AND VIOLENT CONTENT!
VICE: Chicago’s Gang Problem & The Inequitable Sharing Of Nigeria’s Oil Resources (Video)
YES! Damn smart move by VICE: posting its HBO shows online for their fans who don’t have premium cable.
“Don’t nobody wanna talk no more. It’s so easy to get a gun out here. Everybody wanna shoot it out.”
Wow. Remember how we posted on ‘Chi raq’ (Chicago being a war zone akin to Iraq)? Well, VICE addresses that in this episode’s first half. For the last half, VICE documents Nigeria’s oil industry – oil theft, financial and social costs, and more.
VICE: The Harlem Globetrotters & Dennis Rodman Visit North Korea (Video)
I’ve been posting interesting stories & documentaries from VICE for a few years now. And this isn’t the first time we’ve posted their reports on North Korea, but what makes this particular trip back to North Korea wildly interesting is they’ve brought along the Harlem Globetrotters & former NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman. The news that VICE was returning to North Korea & that NBA champion Dennis Rodman agreed to go with them sent shockwaves throughout the world & had everyone around the globe talking. There’s moments of hilarity in this video captured this North Korea trip but it wasn’t at all perpetuated by Dennis Rodman. It was in the cultural differences & appearances the North Korean government was trying to keep up for their guests. Overall from watching this video of the trip to North Korea it’s clear that the Harlem Globetrotters may have left the biggest impact on this diplomatic exchange.
Prodigy and Alchemist Go ‘Back & Forth’ about ‘NY vs. LA’ While Reminsicing at the ‘Brisk Bodega’ (Video)
“I thought [Alchemist] was a Fed… I thought they sent the Feds to investigate us.” – Prodigy (of Mobb Deep)
…and that’s just how this crazy talk started. Nifty clip of Prodigy and Alchemist talking about New York versus LA living, their beginnings together and more. Brought to you by Brisk Bodega partnering with Noisey, Vice’s music channel.
Yancey Boys – “The Fisherman” feat. Vice x Detroit Serious x J Rocc (Prod. By J Dilla) [Video]

Action Bronson Performs For A UK Retirement Home (Video)
“And now I’m gonna hand out Chocolates…” Hahahaaaa!!!!
Noisey UK, a VICE channel, arranged a surprise visit and PERFORMANCE for St. Hilda’s senior living facility…from Action Bronson! So, of course, he dropped that hot “Strictly 4 My Jeeps” on them.
Stop laughing. If you can… but several in the audience liked the beard. And (if you ask Bronson) he rocked that show! Forget Coachella… St. Hilda’s is the venue!
VICE: Israeli Killer Robots (Video)
‘Israel is the world’s biggest exporter of military drones, used around the world for everything from surveillance to precision rocket attacks on speeding cars in remote locales. Israel’s drone program hasn’t stirred as much controversy as its American counterpart, but not because their targeted killings are any less fatal. VICE sent Simon Ostrovsky to a drone testing airfield in Israel to find out what their latest eye-in-the-sky can see.’
VICE: Russian Billionaire Sergey Veremeenko is Russia’s 0.00001% (Video)
“We’ve been flying all over this land, and you’re like, ‘Okay. When do we get to Sergey’s place?’ This is Sergey’s place. This entire f#king place is Sergey’s. He owns pretty much the entire north of Russia!” – Ryan Duffy, Vice
Remember the 1% we were supposed to hate on as the Occupy Wall Street movement gained traction? Well, how much hate do you think a country’s .00001% can stir up?
After the collapse of Communism in Russia, as state assets were divvied up and privatized, a few individuals stepped in to take the reins of this entrepreneurial experiment. Rewarded with massive fortunes and fame, they came to be known as “the oligarchs.”
To see how the .00001% lives, we met up with infamous Russian oligarch Sergey Veremeenko and spent quality time hog-hunting and helicopter-joyriding at his private estate outside Moscow.
– Vice
Connections in the country’s steel, mining, and banking industries… and the MOVIE industry… and a fine a$$ 20-something model/actress wife (Sofya Skya, Miss World 2006). Man.
Click play. Let the hating begin.

“This is a 5,000 year old culture. The medicine is different. We have a different way of life. And it’s not better. It’s not worse. It’s just what it is.”
– Eddie Huang
For this Fresh Off The Boat (From Vice), Eddie Huang heads back to Taiwan. The 3-parter starts with Eddie exploring metal music in Taiwan scene – face paint, screaming lessons, and furry pink pillows. In Gongguan, there’s diner and debate (on Taiwanese independence) over a home cooked meal with local metal group, CHTHONIC. All this and more. Press play and step off the boat with Eddie.
Vice: Venezuelan Body Counts (Video)
Damn. Vice has a knack for bringing awareness to realities that we should really know and care about through its documentaries. With perspectives that bring focus to peculiarities and injustices around the world, you’ve seen many a Vice post here because the videos are really worth watching. That said, this 3-part video “Venezuelan Body Counts” ranks among the most impactful. And that’s saying a lot. Part 1 above. Parts 2 and 3 after the jump.
Last year alone, Caracas had more violent deaths than Baghdad (Iraq). Vice’s Ryan Duffy traveled to Venezuela to investigate the country’s crime epidemic.
