Sports: NBA To Crack Down On Verbally Abusive Fans (Video)

Okay. I’m for this. I mean, I would hear the old argument, “That’s what they get paid millions for… to put up with fans’ outbursts.” But I was ALSO a proponent of once your mouth ‘writes that check’ that 6’7″ brother you slurred should get to ‘cash you out court side’ (fines issued on a case-by-case basis, of course). I mean, hey, ALL speech is free… but no one is free from the consequences (just saying).
Nowadays, though, why don’t we just mandate some decorum on both sides. If you don’t think your seat was worth what you paid for it, don’t feel like you can “get your money’s worth” with hateful heckling. Nah, son. That day is done.
I especially like that even a ‘borrowed’ season ticket seat can be lost if the borrower acts out of pocket.
Only potentials issue I see: No ‘instant replay’ in the stands. A lifelong fan losing that season ticket seat for a ‘misheard statement’… well, taking that L would hurt a fan working for $50K a year way more than that athlete who earned $5MIL last year.
Let’s see how this plays out. Let those players play in [relative] peace from now on.

How interesting… and predictable. Talking heads on the right want famous folks to ‘shut up’ and dribble, sing or whatever… unless they dribble the rhetoric they want to hear.
How dare Kanye West say President George W. Bush does care about Black people back in the day. Oh, wait. He’s spitting some of that ‘free thinking’ Make America Great Again (MAGA)? Ahhh, he’s a refreshing right-wing converted icon now.
(Hmmm… remember wifey Kim Kardashian West was just up at the White House months ago. Let’s see how all this plays out. Gotta find five years of reality TV footage for that “Who’s House? Trump’s House!” show premiering after the 2020 elections. Ha!)
And Taylor Swift. She is out of line with the right. Speaking out of turn, so according to the right-wing pundits, it is time for her to go back to singing and stay out of politics like a good girl.

Agree or agree to disagree, no motherf**king body can motherf**king tell you what language you must use to speak to each other; or use speaking an ‘unacceptable’ language to profile you. Plus, English does not have a strong an argument for being the ‘rightful’ language of ‘real’ Americans. Watch.

We got a whiff and posted on the NFL’s kneel ban days ago. Now NFL Commish Roger Goodell puts it all the way out there… No longer speculation, the ban is out there. Watch TYT’s Francis Maxwell speak on it, and make a helluva good point: The League is FULL of Black players whose interests are repped by this LAWFUL, PEACEFUL protest. Goodell and the NFL owner cadre are essentially telling them to bow down, by insisting that they either stand for the anthem or stay off the playing field until they learn to ‘act right’… or get hit in the pockets.

Blue Lives Matter, No Matter What… Except For This Officer Who The Cause Abandoned (Video)

I will let the Francis tell you about the angles. The facts: (1) Officer Mohamed Noor used deadly violence, (2) it was unjustified, (3) Noor should be punished just like all the other wrongful shooters should have been, BUT (4) there has been no support in this particular situation from those aligned with #BlueLivesMatter
We are now left with the big ‘why’ questions. Chief among them, why is the only time we the ‘Blue Lives Matter’ mantra is invoked is in juxtaposition to ‘Black Lives Matter’ …The mantra has provided cover for other cops’ bad shoots, so why not Noor’s? Could there be another color to consider other than ‘blue’ or can unquestioned faith in officers’ in-the-moment decision-making all of a sudden be questioned when the cop’s chosen faith is not ‘ideal?’

But then you realize that SOMETHING has been serving to ‘justify’ the frequent escalation to violence and murder against Black men (by radical racists, out of control cops, even Black assailants). Maybe research studies, leading to thoughtful discussion, can start us down the path to treating Black Lives like the really Matter.

Dinosaur Tail Found Preserved In Amber (Video)

A dinosaur tail was found recently preserved in amber. So, wow, does this mean Jurassic Park will be opening soon for real?? Soft tissue for DNA extraction. Maybe they even find a mosquito tucked in there with the tail, too.
The tail of a 99-million-year-old dinosaur, including bones, soft tissue, and even feathers, has been found preserved in amber, according to a report published today in the journal Current Biology.
Feathers? Well, yeah, feathers. They have been found in amber, and evidence for feathered dinosaurs is captured in fossil impressions. This is the first time that scientists are able to clearly associate well-preserved feathers with a dinosaur.

It is important that for all the ways that Ali should be remembered – winning fighter, charismatic public figure, ambassador for peace and justice – we must NEVER forget that Ali was NOT living to win approval from the majority. As much a warrior out of the ring as in, he spoke harshly on injustices perpetuated by America and the White majority in the U.S. and abroad; refusing to be part of or tacitly endorse it in any way.

Ashley Williams. Pretty bold. Plus, the topic (the framing of young Black people as ‘super-predators’ as then President Bill Clinton, ultimately signed a ‘Three Strikes” crime bill that locked thousands of them up) deserves national attention that it was not getting until this fundraiser protest move.
Hillary Clinton was at a fundraiser in South Carolina when a Black Lives Matter protester interrupted her speech. She held up a banner that had a pretty devastating quote from the candidate.
Cenk Uygur does make a good strategy point in his critique: If only Ashley could have gotten an answer from Former Secretary Clinton #WhichHilary #BlackLivesMatter
