The Roots Perform ‘unDun’ songs with Bilal on Jimmy Fallon (Video)
There is no question in my mind that when it’s all said & “dun” the Legendary Roots crew will eventually end up in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Sooner than most artists you’d expect, but I know they still have many more albums left in them. For now they rocked a few selections from their new ‘unDun’ album with the help of Philly soul singer Bilal on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. More video under the hood…

B.O.B. & The Roots Perform ‘Strange Clouds’ On Jimmy Fallon (Video)
B.O.B’s new single is one of my favorite new joints right now especially from a musical & production standpoint. Last night on the Jimmy Fallon show B.O.B. flipped it a little & it still sounded dope. I may have to rip me an audio copy of this joint right here because this live version really sounds special….
The Roots – ‘Sleep’ (Video)
This series of videos from The Roots has been incredible not to mention the dope songs that have been released from their new project undun which drops December 6th.
The Roots – Stomp (Video)
The Legendary Roots crew drop another video from their upcoming album “undun” as promised. The Roots continue to drop a new video every week until the album is released December 6th. Everyone one of these videos connect to each other & so far “Stomp” is the third video that was released up to this point. Great & creative strategy in my opinion….
The Roots – “undun” (Album Cover)
The Roots let the fans get a look at the album cover for their upcoming album “undun” due on December 6th. The cover alone brings back memories of when me & my friends were those same ghetto kids doing backflips off of dirty mattresses in the hood. Dope choice for a album cover….

The Roots – Tip The Scale (Video)
“Tip The Scale” is the second video released from The Roots upcoming album “undun” which is based on the short life of of one Redford Stephens (1974-1999) who apparently was caught up in the street life but unfortunately met an untimely demise. Check the video as the legendary Roots crew give you a better visual picture as they piece it all together for the fans with a new video every week.
The Roots – ‘Make My’ (Video)
First video from The Roots new project undun. This song feature Big K.R.I.T. Very dope visuals and song.
undun is an existential re-telling of the short life of one Redford Stephens (1974-1999). Through the use of emotives and Redford’s internal dialogues the album seeks to illustrate the intersection of free will and prescribed destiny as it plays out ‘on the corner’. Utilizing a reverse narrative arc, the album begins as the listener finds Redford disoriented–postmortem–and attempting to make sense of his former life. As he moves through its pivotal moments he begins to deconstruct all that has led to his (and our own) coming undun. – The Legendary Roots Crew

The Roots – “Life, Love, & Loot”
Inspired by the Captain Morgan commercial campaign of “Life, Love, & Loot”, Philly’s finest The Roots flipped the musical theme of the liquor brand’s primary song into a dope ass joint with a great classic rock feel. Black Thought aka Tariq Trotter kills this joint on the vocals so well it sounds like he may have outdid Lenny Kravitz himself at his own signature vocal style. The song won’t appear on the The Roots upcoming album “undun” due December 6th, but damn this joint is dope even if for a commercial campaign. Check out the Spin Magazine article with Questlove regarding the project & listen to the track below. Some Behind The Scenes video after the jump…. Glasses Up!
The Roots – ‘Make My’ feat. Big K.R.I.T.
First single from The Roots’ new project entitled ‘undun’ due to be released on Island/Def Jam on December 6th. This is the only track with a feature on the entire album and it happens to be from Mississippi’s own Big K.R.I.T.. Not only is Big K.R.I.T. a great choice of collaborator if you’re going to limit your features, but this is also a dope track.

OkayPlayerTV: The Roots Picnic (Video)
Although there were plenty of videos that surfaced on the web focusing on Philly’s largest summer festival & the many performers that graced the stage, The Roots crew’s Okayplayer team dropped a high quality recap over the weekend. As a Philly native it’s amazing for me to see what the The Roots annual picnic on Festival Pier on Penn’s Landing has grown into. The Roots continue to make me proud to be from Philly not only for the music they present to the world, but in the many ways they reach back for Philly artists, Philly fans, the city, & the community at large. Check out the video recap….Okay Player?
