The Internet – “La Di Da” (Prod. By Jeff Kopchia) [Video]
Besides making great music, The Internet can be counted on for turning out a great music video… like this one set for a carefree summer off their “Hive Mind” album.
The Internet – “Come Over” (Video)
DOPE! And Syd directed this. Cool. The Internet’s visual for “Come Over” – off the new album “Hive Mind” (due out July 20th).
The Internet – “Roll” (Burbank Funk) [Video]
Dope bounce joint. So, is this a ‘coming off a great weekend’ joint or a ‘looking forward to a great weekend’ joint? Well… yes!
Check out this new musical visual from The Internet entitled “Roll” (Burbank Funk).
Syd – “Bodyâ€
Damn. So Syd and the rest of The Internet will be at The Loft in ATL on March 3rd? Might need to be at the spot. Listen to mega-talented ma do her thing on “Body” from the upcoming debut solo album “Fin” (out now).
The Internet – “Get Away” (Video)
Haaaa! Syd’s gonna let her ladies drive her damn crazy. Naaah, never that (hopefully); just blow smoke and chill in the cloud. Sure, but how is it that her and the band (The Internet always got each other) are in this video WILDIN’ to what seems to be a mellow trance song experience. Dunno, but the end result is pretty good. Check out the visuals above and the link to an earlier post to get hits like “Get Away” on their latest project “Ego Death” (out now).
NPR: “Tiny Desk Concerts†Series Welcomes “The Internet” (Video)
Straight outta Los Angeles, and Odd Future, The Internet – featuring founding members Syd The Kid (vocals/production) and Matt Martians (keys/ production), as well as Pat Paige (bass), Jameel Bruner (keys) and Chris Smith (drums) – falls through NPR to do a “Tiny Desk Concert.†The kind of Alternative that The Internet brings to your ears… well… it’s hard to describe. Good thing you have the above video to watch (and the “Ego Death” album link, via earlier post on here, to listen to).
Here’s an attempt at description: Think R&B’d out Hip-Hop swagger meeting homegrown Neo-Soul with a 21st century twist.
Yep. That’s the best description for it. And nope, that doesn’t quite cover it. But yep, you will enjoy it… perhaps enough to cop the album here.
Alternative/R&B: The Internet – “Girl” (Live)
Above: Watch The Internet do a live in-studio version of “Girl†for KCRW. Like it? You can get the single and more dopeness on The Internet’s LP “Ego Death” (out now, linked via earlier post below).
The Internet Rehearses For A Set (Video)
Yes! We’ve always supported The Internet. If you’ve been rocking with them all along, too, you are invited to chill with the band at a low key rehearsal.
You know what? Even if you are new to this… come on. Click the video above and chiiiillll. In fact, why not stream The Internet’s LP “Ego Death” below (the link above the stream below will let you buy a download if you like).
R&B: The Internet – “Girl” (Prod. By Kaytranada)
Now… this is pretty nice. Maybe you heard this on BBC One Radio. If not, you’re about to hear it here first and go searching for the rest of the set. Kaytranada laid the track. Syd Tha Kid laid on top of it with some smooth crooning. Done deal. Enjoy!
Alternative: The Internet – “Shadow Dance” (Video)
Damn. Syd The Kyd pulled one with this one (well, two if you count the honey in the vid and the song separately). Odd Future’s on the mic and sometimes on the tables singer… repping The Internet… nice vid for “Shadow Dance.” Hot. Hot!
R&B/Alternative: The Internet – “Partners In Crime Part Two”
Syd The Kid and Matt Martians (collectivized as The Internet) drop something new repping the Odd Future crew. Smoothed out jazziness from the duo entitled “Partners In Crime Part Two.” Shout to SoulBounce for the scoop.
R&B/Soul: The Internet – “Give It Time”
Syd Tha Kid and Matt Martian – rolling as a combo called The Internet – let go of a sultry heater entitled “Give It Time.†Nice. The duo reps the Odd Future click well on this. Laid-back… chill-mode music. Click and listen here.
R&B/Alternative: The Internet – “Cocaine (Little Dragon Remix)”
The Internet – Love Song
Singer & producer Syd Tha Kid is a part of that Odd Future collective that has been gaining plenty of publicity in the media. Syd, alongside fellow Odd Future member Matt Martians make up the duo called “The Internet”. The jury had been out with me on Odd Future outside of the great work of Frank Ocean, but if the rest of the collective keeps turning over quality like this “Love Song” right here then they’ll have a new fan in me. This joint right here is straight R&B/Soul, but the only problem I have with the song is that it’s way too short….
