It’s interesting in this MTV video Pusha T & The-Dream discuss everything about working together on this song, but the interviewer may have failed to ask Pusha T about who he’s talking about in this new ‘Exodus 23:1’ record. Yeah Yeah it doesn’t take much to figure out who he’s talking about already **COUGH** Drake **COUGH** but it would good to see an official response. Battles are good for hip hop as long as cats keep it all on the record & showcase their skills….

While out at the Cannes Film Festival to support Kanye West’s new film ‘Cruel Summer’, Virginia based emcee Pusha T dropped this dope joint via his twitter that sounds pretty dope. Although he enlists R&B singer The-Dream on the hook this joint is STILL a ‘BEEF’ record. Even if your ears fail to peep Biggie’s ‘What’s Beef’ sample in the song, it’s evident from the ‘not too subliminal’ lyrics that Pusha T is dissin’ Drake in this joint. The song will appear on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album. Yeah it’s heating up to be a ‘Cruel Summer’ already…..

The-Dream releases a new video for “Kill The Lights” featuring his new artist Casha. This is a really good song on the R&B side of things & the video is pretty glossed out too. I’m not mad at it at all. The song is one of my favorite R&B joints to have dropped in the last few months. The Atlanta singer’s new album “LOVE IV” is set to become available this Summer 2012.

The song should appear on this upcoming album “The Love IV MMXII” later this year following this new 19-city “Kill The Lights” tour that he’s kicking off with a stop at SXSW later this month….

As we start coming close to the 2nd year Anniversary of my R&B Radio show, I was finally ready to put out a series of mixes for my listeners. This is a thick slice of the variety of songs that I have actually MIXED on-air. For those who can’t stay up late, ‘Love Ultra’ is a Tuesday Night R&B, Soul, Urban show heard from 11:00pm to 1:00am and is syndicated in the streets of Gambia on Vibes FM 106.1. Nice new R&B joint from The-Dream as he gets ready to drop his free 10-track album Terius Nash Est. 1977 on August 31st which will be followed by his retail release of The Love IV: Diary Of A Madman later this year. Apparently the free album dropping on the 31st is supposed to be his more personal work to date but supposedly Def Jam is not happy with him dropping a free project for his fans.

The-Dream lets loose this track in anticipation for his upcoming album The Love IV (Diary Of A Madman). My initial reaction led me to believe that Terius Nash is drawing from Jodeci & Prince influences for inspiration. I dig how ‘Body Work’ transitions into the ‘F&ck My Brains Out’ portion of the song with an with an influence that’s sonically Prince in the overall vibe & production style. Â I could do without all the extra profanity in R&B these days, but at least with The-Dream it doesn’t sound TOO forced for shock value. Well then again…. maybe I’m wrong but you probably don’t care anyway….
