Before you start thinking this is a remake of Babyface’s classic R&B record “Whip Appeal” just stop right there with that thought & simply hit play on this joint that the New Orleans born-Cali living artist just dropped via his tumbler page. Definitely not the same thang so just enjoy….

R&B/Soul: Frank Ocean – “White”
This is the full version of “Whiteâ€, the only solo Frank Ocean track from the upcoming Odd Future Tape Vol. 2. The song is only two minutes long but its still pretty soulful & quality work. I could honestly care less about an Odd Future album but I’m definitely anticipating the next album from Frank Ocean on the solo. House Shoes – “Castles” feat. Jimetta Rose (tHe Sky Is Ours)
Spotted this joint over at OKP & couldn’t get over how dope & beautiful this song is. Detroit producer & DJ House Shoes brought along his homegirl singer Jimetta Rose for “Castles” (The Sky Is Ours) which is a tribute to their fallen friend “J1” who passed away in November of last year. The release of this tribute coincides with what would have been their fallen friend’s birthday this week. The song will appear on House Shoes’ upcoming album but can also be copped via bandcamp or making a donation to J1’s family at the link HERE.

14KT – “Width” feat. Tony Ozier (Video)
“2011. This is a personal piece I wanted to share with you all. I made it from compiled videos I recorded on my phone. I made the song dedicated to God, but it’s also a dedication to my family and some of the friends He’s blessed me with. As an artist, you can easily get caught up in an endless menu of distractions in life. Having to please people, facing criticism on your creativity, pressures of living up to your potential, pleasing others, image, all the things that can create fear in our lives. However, when you put your thoughts on the things/people you truly love, LOVE will conquer fear. R.I.P. My father, Paul Tucker Jr.” – 14KT

Raphael Saadiq – “They Don’t Know” featuring Common & Ledisi (Unreleased)
Apparently this pretty cool joint produced by Steve Spacek was recorded back in 2004 with Raphael Saadiq, Common, & Ledisi. Not sure why it was never used & it’s quite possible that the song isn’t even finished. I can just imagine all the other soulful dopeness that’s probably laying around on the hard drives of Raphael Saadiq or even Steve Spacek for that matter….

UPDATE:
“Back in 2004 Raphael Saadiq opened his studio doors to Spacek to produce an album for one of his sub-labels. The album was suppose to be called Pookie Blue Room and features 10 songs produced by both Steve and Morgan with Raphael singing on all of them and featuring guest appearances by Common , Q-Tip , Ledisi, Steve Spacek and Sir Bentley (you know it was 2004 when you see Sir Bentley’s name, ahaha)…anyhow the album was never completed and therefor never released…” – Mathieu Schreyer

Jon B – “Only One” (Video)
Jon B used to be that dude with some quality R&B work & collaborations. His “Cool Relax” album still gets some burn from me from time to time because there were so many great joints such as the title track “Cool Relax” , “I Do”, “Bad Girl”, “Shine”, “Don’t Say”, “They Don’t Know”, & his collabo with Tupac “Are You Still Down?”. I didn’t even know he had a new album coming out independently until I saw someone tweet about this new video of his called “Only One”. The song appears on his new album “Comfortable Swag” that just dropped on Valentines Day in iTunes. Yeah I know what you’re thinking….I hate the use of “swag” in the title as well, but I definitely dig the song. I’m gonna have to give the new album a good listen…
