The Jeremy Lin“Insanity” that’s been happening OFF the court has been borderline racist at times. ESPN recently fired one staffer for the insensitive “Chink In The Armor” headline & suspended one of their sportscasters for a month for repeating it live on air. It wasn’t just ESPN taking things a little too far as NY print media have even fallen victim to it, but SNL’s skit last night was a well played lesson on some of the absurdity of all the racial insensitivity that’s been carried out in the media recently. Hopefully people watching got the underlying message & not just the jokes….
My homie & dope visual artist Dubelyoo brought this interview to my attention with entertainers who happen to be both Black & Latino. It’s funny how some people I know are ignorant how you can be both, but I blame that on their inability to travel. Check out this interesting interview of the experiences from entertainers such as Laz Alonso (“Avatar”, “Jumping the Broom”), Tatyana Ali (“Fresh Prince of Bel Air”), Gina Torres (“Suits, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys”) and Judy Reyes (“Scrubs”), musicians Christina Milian (“Dip it Low”) and Kat DeLuna (“Whine Up”), and journalist Soledad O’Brien
