Noisey Bompton: Growing Up With Kendrick Lamar (Part 1) [Video]
Surely you did not think it was a game when we said that Kendrick Lamar said he would rep Compton for life, did you? He got the Key To The City and he’s still locked in! Well, Noisey is dropping six parts of proof for the last one or two of you doubters out there. Yep, VICELAND Noisey sent one of their Whitest reporters out to the Blood side of Compton (that’s Bompton) to talk to K.Dot and give us perspective on the hood love he gets now and what it was like “Growing up with Kendrick Lamar.” Hood pass granted!
Compton, California, is one of Hip-Hop’s most celebrated locales, the birthplace of acts like N.W.A. and, more recently, Kendrick Lamar. It’s also home to a complicated gang culture. ‘Noisey Bompton’ centers around Kendrick Lamar and the friends he grew up with on the West Side of Compton, many of whom feature on the cover of his album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly.’ In the first of six segments, we sit down with Kendrick to talk about his acclaimed albums, pay a visit to his high school, Centennial, and get to know his childhood friend Lil L.

Snoop Dogg’s Son ‘Cordell Broadus’ Will Begin His College Career As A Wide Receiver For UCLA (Video)
Snoop Dog’s son Cordell Broadus was one of the top high school prospects in the country before he made his decision to play for UCLA as a wide receiver. Cordell won’t be the only son of a hip hop industry veteran playing under head coach Jim Mora as P Diddy’s son Justin Combs is also playing over at UCLA as a defensive back. Snoop Dogg appeared on ESPN’s First Take & also added his opinion that rap artists should speak to the young guys coming into the NFL & NBA to help keep them out of trouble.

It’s good to see famous rap fathers who have children that are excelling & working to making a name for themselves in other areas besides the music industry. We posted a story about 50 Cent’s son, Marquise Jackson, representing in Atlanta playing high school basketball & it’s been known for minute that Snoop Dogg has a son that is excelling in high school football. Snoop’s son, Cordell Broadus, is considered of the top high school wide receivers in the country. The 6-2 192 pound wide receiver hasn’t declared which school he’ll be attending & he’s being courted heavily by various schools around the country such as Arizona State (where he’s taken a visit already), Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, USC, Baylor, UCLA, & Duke among others.  ESPN documented Snoop Dogg & his son in a 5-part series called ‘Snoop & Son: A Dad’s Dream’ that’s set to premier on ESPN Wednesday January 14th at 7pm EST.
