Stronger, Faster, Cheaper: Robots Are Replacing China’s Work Force (Video)

Very interesting. Over here in The States, folks dread the coming of robotic innovations that could cost them their jobs for the sake of manufacturing efficiency and cost effectiveness. But in China, where they have a lot of people, there is a shortage of “blue collar” workers. In other words, Chinese manufacturers claim that they don’t have enough workers around to complain. Their money-saving initiative involving robots would not be to replace workers; rather to avoid having to pay high wages to woo laborers or move to where the workers live. I wonder how this plays out for the average Chinese worker in a communist society as compared to here in a capitalist society like here the U.S. It seems like the companies in China could be fazing out the average worker, but are these corporations sharing in the workers’ ability to find work, sharing in the profits, or assisting them in pursuing their dreams elsewhere.

Check it.

Tomorrowland (Trailer)

You wanted to see “Tomorrowland”… Well here it comes!

Yep, it’s coming alright (to the silver screen on May 22, 2015). Looks like Disney has taken all its Marvel Universe movie and TV-making powers, combined them with the adept storytelling already possessed (and learned on producing TV like ‘Once Upon A Time’) and crammed it into yet another late spring / early summer blockbuster. Whew! Combine this robot-fighting near-future set fantasy and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” dropping just weeks earlier; and you understand what a beast mode big screen juggernaut Disney is. Not hurting the effort, at all, is major major Hollywood A-list talent (George Clooney) jumping on the scale with all his weight; giving serious effort to what looks to be an epic rock’em sock’em watching experience! Dollar up for the big bucket of popcorn, extra butter, super-duper sodas and whatnot… and the iMax experience… for this one. Then strap in, as Casey (Britt Robertson) and Frank (Clooney) go all in; taking on killer robots as they take you to “Tomorrowland” (trailer above)!

Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland” promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.

The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.

All that, too?? Yeah, this looks goooood.

Harvard Scientists Borrow From Squids To Create A Flexible Robot (Video)

Scientists at Harvard have created a flexible robot that can crawl in & out of tight spaces. The scientists says they came up with the idea simply at looking at mother nature’s design of squids & other extremely flexible species within the animal kingdom. I think they borrowed from the claymation character Gumby. Gumby may not like the idea of not getting credited for the robot’s design. Afterall….he’s Gumby Dammit!

Bilal – “Robots” (Tensei Remix) featuring Adad

There have been a few remixes I’ve heard to tracks off of Bilal’s ‘Airtight’s Revenge’ album that dropped almost a year ago. This one right here sounds just as dope as the original version to me yet totally different aurally speaking.  Nevertheless it’s dope to have a good remix to breathe new life into Bilal’s project for those people who may have slept.
