Geto Boys’ Bushwick Bill [born Richard Stephen Shaw] died Sunday evening, his publicist confirmed to Associated Press and on Instagram. Earlier this year, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was 52.

Sad to report it when we got final confirmation, but relieved that the brother’s suffering has ended. Our deepest condolences to his family and our thanks, as part of a Hip-Hop Nation that was blessed by his light. Check out the video montage showing some of Bill’s brilliance above.
