Bill Maher Compares The NFL To Good Politics Where Everybody Wins (Video)
Super Bowl XLV has come & gone & the Green Bay Packers have come out victorious. Although I was rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers because I’m a Philly native & obviously I want to support my home state, I’m not mad at the Green Bay Packers winning it at all. Unlike the majority of the NFL, the Green Bay Packers organization is set up in a way where the fans can become shareholders in the team & each having a stake & voice on the outcome in the team’s success or failure. It may surprise many of you to know that the Green Bay Packers are also a non-profit organization. As the game winded down to the final minutes I thought of Bill Maher’s opinion piece from a week ago comparing the NFL’s ‘sharing the wealth’ philosophy to how the United States could be successful again for many underemployed & out of work Americans. Bill Maher drew excellent comparisons of how the country is being run like Major League Baseball & failing its constituents, but if leaders employed the NFL’s method we’d all be better off.
