Big K.R.I.T. feat. Raphael Saadiq – “Soul Food” (Video)
The new single “Soul Food” is one of my favorite songs off of Big K.R.I.T.’s latest project “Cadillactica” that’s out now. Great choice to have a brand new video for this soulful Raphael Saadiq produced joint.

Big K.R.I.T. – “Soul Food” feat. Raphael Saadiq
Mississippi emcee Big K.R.I.T. invites Raphael Saadiq (of Tony Toni Tone fame) to share in this new “Soul Food†from his forthcoming “Cadillactica” album (due out November 11, 2014, available for pre-order at iTunes now). Real music fans, esp. lovers of good Hip-Hop, should be getting real excited. K.R.I.T. hasn’t dropped the ball yet with any of what he’s served up so far in promoting that project. Lyrics and sage wisdom served with a side of Raphael Saadiq’s spicy sweet ‘sanging in this single seving.

R&B: Raphael Saadiq – “I’m In Like”
Wowwww!! This song – “I’m In Like” by Raphael Saadiq – is so dope! What can I say, the man is right:
‘This is a song for my friends who want to vibe out to a joint that makes you feel right! No bells, whistles or pretense, just a beautiful song … life in motion. If you wanna sit in the house, ride the Bart, Subway, Metro (or other public transpo), put your headphones on and roll out! That’s what I like to do after I write a song … roll out to it. Enjoy.’
– Raphael Saadiq

Raphael Saadiq – “They Don’t Know” featuring Common & Ledisi (Unreleased)
Apparently this pretty cool joint produced by Steve Spacek was recorded back in 2004 with Raphael Saadiq, Common, & Ledisi. Not sure why it was never used & it’s quite possible that the song isn’t even finished. I can just imagine all the other soulful dopeness that’s probably laying around on the hard drives of Raphael Saadiq or even Steve Spacek for that matter….

UPDATE:
“Back in 2004 Raphael Saadiq opened his studio doors to Spacek to produce an album for one of his sub-labels. The album was suppose to be called Pookie Blue Room and features 10 songs produced by both Steve and Morgan with Raphael singing on all of them and featuring guest appearances by Common , Q-Tip , Ledisi, Steve Spacek and Sir Bentley (you know it was 2004 when you see Sir Bentley’s name, ahaha)…anyhow the album was never completed and therefor never released…” – Mathieu Schreyer

D’Angelo Working on New Album
Billboard.com is reporting that D’Angelo is back working on new material with ?estlove of The Roots. Apparently ?est tweeted during the a session the two had last night.
“Most people use midnight as a time to sleep. others are working on their 11 year followup. this of course being hour number one,” ?estlove said via his twitter.
Details on the project are sketchy with names like Prince, Raphael Saadiq, John Mayer, and Cee Lo Green rumored to have worked on the project through is long development. The project is going to be released on J Records late 2011 or early 2012.
D’Angelo has been on through a lot since his last release in 2000 entitled Voodoo, with a serious car wreck, an arrest, an reported substance abuse issues. It’ll be great to see him back doing his thing.
Raphael Saadiq – ‘Good Man’ (Theory Edit)
Raphael Saadiq’s standout track ‘Good Man’ from his current ‘Stone Rollin’ album was already a great soulful song with an equally as good video, but DJ Theory put a nice spin on it with this remix/Re-edit that will give more hip hop & dance oriented DJs reason to spin the song as well. Although I primarily do a hip hop show, I’m playing this on the Beatz & Lyrics Show this Saturday night! Raphael Saadiq should get a Ghostface verse & make this an official remix! This is hot!
Raphael Saadiq – ‘Good Man’ (Video)
Looking forward to Raphael Saadiq’s new album ‘Stone Rollin’ due March 22nd. Check out the new video he just dropped for ‘Good Man’.
Raphael Saadiq – Good Man
One of my favorite soul artists Raphael Saadiq drops the first single from his upcoming album ‘Stone Rolling’. It sounds retro but still kinda new at the same time. He’s been playing with that early 50s & 60s sound but appears to have found a way to make it work in 2011 without straight biting decades past. After the jump check out the video he released earlier this month for ‘Radio’.
