Colin Munroe is ridiculously underrated as an artist; and the video for the “Fight of My Life” joint (featuring Pusha T) is more proof positive that he belongs in music’s upper echelon. We put it after the jump because there’s an almost bare chested woman in the video (nipples covered though) so it may not be safe for work depending where you are.

Pusha T, Raekwon, and Joell Ortiz chip in on this gift for the soundtrack to ‘The Man With The Iron Fists’ (the new Quentin Tarantino movie directed by and starring RZA). Their joint is called “Tick, Tock.” Expect the soundtrack to come out October 23, 2012. The movie is slated to be in theaters November 2, 2012. How do we know? Let’s just say we know folks that told us so. Heck, they even gave us a peek at the tentative track listing for the soundtrack (posted after the jump). Solid!

Pusha T – “Pies” (Prod. Fly Union)

When I heard this song circulating the internet from Pusha T my immediate reaction was it sounded pretty dope. No pun intended considering the V.A. native’s not so subtle contraband references. Apparently the song appears on the ‘Champions’ mixtape put together by the Cleveland based brotha Meel Tha DJ for LebronJames.com featuring all original music. The Fly Union produced song appears as the second track on the mixtape, but it is definitely a standout in my opinion. The artwork is pretty fly too. I wouldn’t be surprised if this video got run on BET, MTV, & VH1 with the title as it is & all the drug & gun references. I still prefer the radio playable “Dope Chick” version to this song. I don’t mind it in some hip hop I listen to, but I don’t like my R&B music too gangsta. I like an element of class & sophistication if I want to get ‘gangsta’ with the R&B. When I want to listen to some real ‘Gangsta R&B’ music I prefer to listen to joints like THIS, and THIS, & THIS. But I digress…
The-Dream’s long-awaited The Love IV MMXII album is due out September 20th….

It’s interesting in this MTV video Pusha T & The-Dream discuss everything about working together on this song, but the interviewer may have failed to ask Pusha T about who he’s talking about in this new ‘Exodus 23:1’ record. Yeah Yeah it doesn’t take much to figure out who he’s talking about already **COUGH** Drake **COUGH** but it would good to see an official response. Battles are good for hip hop as long as cats keep it all on the record & showcase their skills….

While out at the Cannes Film Festival to support Kanye West’s new film ‘Cruel Summer’, Virginia based emcee Pusha T dropped this dope joint via his twitter that sounds pretty dope. Although he enlists R&B singer The-Dream on the hook this joint is STILL a ‘BEEF’ record. Even if your ears fail to peep Biggie’s ‘What’s Beef’ sample in the song, it’s evident from the ‘not too subliminal’ lyrics that Pusha T is dissin’ Drake in this joint. The song will appear on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album. Yeah it’s heating up to be a ‘Cruel Summer’ already…..

It’s been a minute since Colin Munroe dropped something where he wasn’t just the featured artist on someone else’s song. I can definitely say I’m a fan of his music & would like to see him eventually get more just deserved fruits of his talent in a greater capacity. Ironically with a song called “The Fight Of My Life” maybe the Canadian singer, songwriter, & all around musician is beginning to turn the tables with Pusha T as the featured on his new joint.
