This is NOT ‘detention’ it is IMPRISONMENT; modern day slave-camping. Immigrants to inmates. And you-know-who wants to ‘build’ a wall?? Seems like the ‘walls’ that are already in place do way too much.
And Miguel is using his platform to shine light on this shame “Now.”
Anyone finding a way to hate on Miguel… wow. That’d be amazing and saddening at the same damn time. Dude do nothing but dopeness. This is a different look, but right in line with his vibe as an artist, ya know. Check this latest out “Now.” “War & Leisure” is out now.

Historical hooray for the 13th Amendment, right? Because it freed the slaves…right? But wait. Hold the Constitution a minute. What if the passage of the 13th Amendment actually gave way to 150 years of oppression of Black people? That’s what Ava DuVernay’s documentary “13TH” posits. And it’s not ‘what if’ rather ‘what it is.’ Watch the Netflix trailer above. Wow…
The title of Ava DuVernay’s extraordinary and galvanizing documentary “13TH” refers to the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which reads “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States.†The progression from that second qualifying clause to the horrors of mass criminalization and the sprawling American prison industry is laid out by DuVernay with bracing lucidity. With a potent mixture of archival footage and testimony from a dazzling array of activists, politicians, historians, and formerly incarcerated women and men, DuVernay creates a work of grand historical synthesis.

Inmates Watch And React To The VICE Special Report ‘Fixing The System’ (Video)

After finishing Fixing the System, our HBO special report about America’s broken criminal justice complex, VICE traveled back to El Reno Federal Correctional Institution in Oklahoma, to screen the documentary for inmates and staff. We then asked them about President Obama’s historic visit to the prison and their thoughts on the documentary. Watch their reactions above.

Our second guest on the show was Brooklyn, New York hip hop artist BK Brasco. The Brownsville, Brooklyn native delivered some insight on his background, spoke with us about traveling the world while working with producer Timbaland & collaborating with artists like Pusha T, Mario, & Stacy Barthe while shedding more insight on his new project called “18th Floor Thompson Hotel”
