Trackstar The DJ x FakeShoreDrive – “Prime Time: A Rap Fan’s Guide To No I.D.” (Mixtape)
Not sure enough folks are aware of all the work No I.D. is doing out here. Besides that done for and with pals Kanye West and Common. Shout to FakeShoreDrive for giving it to him and shining a bright light for us. Check out this exhibit, “Prime Time: A Rap Fan’s Guide To No I.D.” so you can be up on game. Common – “Diamonds” featuring Big Sean (Prod. By No I.D.)
What it is is G.O.O.D. Music. A collab between Common and Big Sean called “Diamonds” seems right. A rare gem to be admired worldwide. A good look – and sound – though “Nobody’s Smiling” … the LP is dropping July 22, 2014.
Behind-The-Scenes: The Making Of Common’s “Kingdom†feat. Vince Staples (Video)
Want a behind-the-scenes perspective on that “Kingdom” video we posted for Common (featuring Vince Staples, produced by No ID)? Good. That’s what up (above). “Nobody’s Smiling” – Common’s forthcoming LP – will be out July 22, 2014.
Common – “Kingdom†featuring Vince Staples (Prod. By No ID) [Video]
Common’s single “Kingdom†(featuring Vince Staples) is quality music. So, how much better can it get than to follow its release with a strong visual … movie-level … with the full treatment directed by Hype Williams?! Not important now. It’s already done. Well done! Check it out above.
Common – “Made In Black America” feat. Ab-Soul (Prod. By NO I.D.)
Brand new music from Common called ‘Made In Black America’ featuring West Coast emcee Ab-Soul. Perfect timing for Common to drop this dope yet socially conscious joint during black history month & shining light on the issues affecting the black community. This is just another teaser & the second single since “War” to the upcoming full-length project called “Nobodys Smiling” that will be entirely produced by fellow Chicagoan NO I.D.
Common Speaks On His Upcoming Album ‘Nobody’s Smiling’ Produced By NO I.D. (Video)
Revolt TV talks to Common (kinda got him looking like ‘The Godfather’ off the movie in the clip above, right?) about his forthcoming project, “Nobody’s Smiling.” What started as an EP on the violence in Chicago just kept growing as he and the project’s sole producer NO I.D. kept making and adding songs, like that “War” we just posted here. The Chi-Town homies look to stop the violence in Chi-raq. Mission-based music. Very refreshing!

Common – “No Sell Out” (Prod. By NO I.D.) [Unreleased]
Dope Chi-town producer & Def Jam executive NO I.D., put this previously unreleased song he recorded with Common up on the web recently. I’m sure this is just one of many ‘Lost Songs’ by Common that may see the light of day eventually. Real hip hop heads may recall this is the same sample used by Main Source for the opening song ‘Snake Eyes’ off of their 1991 classic album ‘Breaking Atoms’.

Cocaine 80s – “Chain Glow” feat. Nas
Cocaine 80s has been been hitting us with more ‘no look passes’ than Lebron James in the past few days with the release of “Queen To Be”, “This Can’t Be A Crime”, & “Take My Keys” all in the last few days. I’d bet no one saw this one coming at all as Nas links up with NO I.D.’s musical clan for this new “Chain Glow” jawn. Common is the only rapper in the group Cocaine 80s so this is truly a special guest appearance & ‘no look pass’ to the fans from the Cocaine 80s team.

Cocaine 80s – “Queen To Be”
Producer NO I.D.’s super group Cocaine 80s releases a brand new joint called “Queen To Be” that gives hints of a possible future Cocaine 80s project is on the way. The previous free releases like their debut EP last July called “The Pursuit” & last October’s “Ghost Lady” EP were usually dropped without much notice via their tumbler page but to much critical acclaim from many people in the know. This new single “Queen To Be” finds bandmember, singer, & songwriter James Fauntleroy holding up the lead vocals on this gem….

Nas – “Daughters”
Nas continues to display why he’s one of the greatest emcees of all-time point blank period. Many artists are 1-dimensional armed only with talk of “doing it big in the club” & all that other material stuff that doesn’t matter, but how many can make an incredibly dope song about our “Daughters”. Although I don’t have any daughters as of yet, I immediately thought of my beautiful nieces listening to this gem produced by NO I.D. Just take a look at your favorite hip hop artist & I’m sure many of them don’t touch as many areas of life with such skill as Nas does. The song will “officially” be released for sale on May 1st & will appear on Nas’s upcoming album due July 17th called “Life Is Good” . This will be Nas’s first album in five years. I’m sure he has more real life experience to touch upon that we can all relate to. Check out the artwork for the single below….

Common – “Sweet”
There is nothing “Sweet” about this banger right here!! Dopeness! Common’s upcoming album The Dreamer, The Believer dropping in December is one of those key albums I’ve been looking forward to this year. I don’t think we’ll be disappointed either…..

Common Speaks On New Album ‘The Dreamer, The Believer’ & Choosing Movie Roles (Video)
“Common speaks about his new album “The Dreamer, The Believer” which he says is produced by No I.D., who handled the production of Common’s early albums. Common states that although the new album is not coming out through Kanye’s Good Music label, he still considers himself part of Good Music because he and Kanye are like brothers. Common also speaks on choosing the right movie roles & gets a little into his new book that that’s out now.
