Nas Rocks New York City Show & Brings Out AZ, Common, & Mos Def (Video)
Saw alot of people I follow on twitter who happen to be in NYC talk about this show when it was going down last night. It was only a matter of time before video surfaced of Nas ripping a show at NYC’s Webster Hall. I think this may have been a surprise performance because it’s not like Nas to rock over his own vocals at shows. Maybe the DJ just pulled up some quick Nas joints out of his serato. Nas also brought out a few special guests to the stage with him in Common, AZ, Mos Def, Maino. More video under the hood….

Mos Def Demands BET Awards Show Tribute For Troy Davis (Video)
Mos Def & Talib Kweli were scheduled to perform here in Atlanta last Thursday night, but the show was cancelled following the recent execution of Troy Davis by the state of Georgia. As Black Star, Mos & Kweli opted to cancel their show in protest. I’m not mad & I applaud them for doing so. Troy Davis will officially be buried this Saturday & almost simultaneously the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards will be taking place in Atlanta. While at their Miami show Mos Def took the opportunity to send a message to the powers at BET to make sure they dedicated a segment to a man who was executed with no evidence of guilt. Should be interesting to see how many other artists will speak out if given the platform.
Black Star x Common find ‘Respiration’ In Chicago (Video)
Mos Def, Talib Kweli, & Common rocked Chicago’s House Of Blues performing their classic hip hip joint “Respiration” for the raucous fans of the Windy City.
Mos Def Retiring Name Next Year (Video)
Mos Def recently spoke on MTV2 about his decision to change his name officially to “Yasiin” next year. Dante Beze, known to the world as Mos Def, says he’ll officially retire that moniker to reflect his new direction in life. I understand one of my favorite hip hop artists is growing & wants to reflect where he is with his life, but I don’t think that’s a great idea to change his stage name now. Either way I support the brotha & just hope he continues to produce quality music…….

Mos Def Goes Hard For Brooklyn (Video)
If you’re a fan of Mos Def you know he always goes hard for his native Brooklyn. He didn’t disappoint yesterday evening while performing at the Fort Greene Music Festival. In the video above he performs a freestyle for ‘Brooklyn We Go Hard’, but I’d the video cuts off right before ‘The Estatic’ which is one of my favorite Mos Def joints. I’m sure more video from yesterday’s show will surface eventually. Shouts to my homegirl Brandi for the heads up!
Blackstar Bring Out Jay Electronica In London (Video)
Blackstar reunited in London for a show alongside Rakim & De La Soul on the bill. What most of the London fans didn’t expect was Mos Def & Talib Kweli bringing out Jay Electronica on stage

Pharoahe Monch Talks About Working With Nate Dogg (Video)
Riding high with the release of his banging new album ‘W.A.R.’ (We Are Renegades), Pharoahe Monch took time out to reflect on his time working with Nate Dogg for the Rawkus single release of ‘Oh No’ featuring Mos Def. Back then I remember people saying it was an odd collaboration that worked because Nate Dogg was just so West Coast G-Funk while Mos Def & Pharoahe were firmly cemented in New York’s hardcore underground hip hop scene. We added the video under the hood…..
Mos Def – ‘World Premier’ (Video)
One of my favorite hip hop artists Mos Def performs a brand new song on Fuel TV…..it’s a ‘Worrrrrrrrrrrrld Premier…..Premier….Premier….Premier!”

Mos Def on DOOM (Video)
Always dope to see when hip hop artists show each other love. All the so called “Beef” is always magnified and blown up in the media. We don’t see enough props being given. Check how Mos quotes DOOM verses off the head word for word, showing that he isn’t just a dope artists himself, but a true fan of the culture. -Isreal
