Marvel’s RiRi Williams Delivers On 3.14 (Pi Day 2017) [Video]
Not all heroes wear capes – but some carry tubes (Pi Day 2017)
They don’t make words for how dope this is. Get excited about higher education; esp. about the prospect of attending one of the United States’ most prestigious – M.I.T. They sent out the admissions decision letters on March 14th, or 3.14 (known as Pi Day, for reasons any who have/had any shot of getting into the pinnacle engineering school understand).
And before you non-nerds push a hand up and out and let out a “pssshhhtt, so what?” Recognize the levels of geek-ohol M.I.T. admissions poured into this years batch of Kool-Aid. Dude, Iron Man, dude! Well actually, they put together a 3-minute vignette featuring a Marvel character, an M.I.T. teen prodigy that built her own super suit and subbed for Iron Man when Tony Stark fell ill that time. The character, RiRi Williams (played by MIT student Ayomide F.), picks up a ‘special delivery’ in the video in her Iron Maiden suit. The special delivery? It’s a tube containing someone’s M.I.T. admission letter. Learn more about the backstory after watching the clip above by following the link below.

MIT Scientists Develop A Robotic Cheetah That Can Run & Jump (Video)
Robotics meet zoology at MIT: Scientists have nearly perfected designs for a robot cheetah.
Wait, wait! Doesn’t anybody over at MIT watch any sci-fi featuring enhanced robo-tech and/or animals? The Matrix, Planet Of The Apes…HELLO???!! So, cheetahs being high enough on the food chain to be sniffing our armpits, it’d be cool to make robo-cheetahs equipped with A.I. enabling them to run and jump without fatigue, right? No way, we’d have actual PREDATOR drones that could hunt and kill humans. Oh wait, we already do, huh?
Okay, so they’ll just come up with another name for the seek-and-eat cat-bots. Sigh. Talk about not knowing when to quit. Thanks for the sweet nightmares MIT… and VICE!
MIT’s cheetah robot can run and jump, will probably be sentient and slaughtering us all soon http://t.co/jKxwfqfz0K pic.twitter.com/eUbKa4OJjg

Killer Mike Speaks On Race And Politics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) [Video]
That White House Correspondents’ Dinner we just posted on? Yeah… Killer Mike was there. The man is up on his politics to say the least. He also lectured at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as part of the university’s ‘Hip-Hop Speaker’ Series. Intelligent discourse at one of America’s well-known gatherings of advanced thinkers. Killer Kill has always spoken up (and well) on issues regarding Hip-Hop politics and humanity. The clips from MIT (starting above, continuing after the jump) give more testimony to that.

Cover Story: 15-Year-Old DJ Focus Built A Radio Station From Scraps And His Message Has Reached MIT And The World (Video)
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. But in this youth’s hands, it’s an opportunity to create something incredible!
15-Year-Old Kelvin Doe is an engineering whiz living in Sierra Leone who scours the trash bins for spare parts, which he uses to build batteries, generators and transmitters. Completely self-taught, Kelvin has created his own radio station where he broadcasts news and plays music under the moniker, DJ Focus.
David Sengeh, an MIT student and fellow native of Sierra Leone, met Kelvin in a Summer Innovation Program he ran there. His heart and mind, Kelvin’s heart and mind… and this story… will touch and inspire you. Guaranteed!
Technology: Scientists at Harvard And M.I.T. May Have Actually Invented A ‘Star Wars’ LightSaber? (Video)
Get ’em, Yoda! Gotta love Star Wars’ lightsaber duels…
If I haven’t said it on here before, I will say it now: If you want an imaginary something made real, get the sci-geeks excited about it. They will get right on making it real. Case in point: MIT and Harvard have a method to herd photons (understood to have no real mass) and have them bind together. The resultant new type of matter, photonic matter, would essentially the beam that would be the blade of a lightsaber (like in the ‘Star Wars‘ movie). We’re not there yet, but this is a big first step! Read all about it by clicking the link below.
