You know how some terms seem made up? Like when a mechanic says the solenoid switch failed… First reaction is like ‘Psssshhtt! Who you tryna fool, fool?’ Yeah. Now doesn’t ‘electric transducer’ sound made up? Like a “Back To The Future” flux capacitor or something? Well, it’s real… the transducer, that is. And it made a real difference in broadcast media.
In 1962, professor James E. West developed the electric transducer, technology that is used in 90% of microphones today, including at sporting events all over the world.
Oh… and Prof. West had a whole lot more patents than that one for the transducer.
