Okay… that happened. Never one to bite his tongue, above is video of the shot [at President Barack Obama at an Inauguration concert event] heard around the world [and the Internet] taken by Lupe Fisaco. Here below, the words of the Fiasco (pun intended):
Yep. That’ll get you kicked off the stage at an Obama Inauguration event… every time. Reports are that Lupe spent nearly half an hour on one song without moving on during the show, too. That wouldn’t help things either.
Right to free speech exercised… with consequences. Wonder if he got his bread?

According to Lupe Fiasco, you can understand why he wears black on stage and chose an all black album cover for “Food & Liquor II” by listening to the late Johnny Cash’s “Man In Black.” Of course, he does explain it a bit in this interview for Fuse TV, too. Lupe also admits… all black packaging makes the album easy to find in stores; AND it makes for a striking collector’s piece for one’s music library. I’m a fan of Lupe Fiasco because he’s talking about issues & doing things far too many artists in the mainstream are failing or just simply unwilling to address. If you haven’t heard the song already pay close attention to the visuals & the message. The song will appear on Lupe Fiasco’s next album entitled “Food & Liquor 2” slated to be released September 25. With all the songs with similar themes that Lupe leaked already for the project like “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” & “Lamborghini Angels”, “Food & Liquor 2” is an appropriate title.

Dope song. Intense subject matter – touching on religion and improper touching by religious leaders. Par for the course where Lupe Fiasco is concerned. Of course, the banging beat (by Mr. Inkredible) could easily hide the blunt lyrics from your conscious hearing; but once you get them, the words will touch your conscience. Whew! This joint, “Lamborghini Angels,” is slated to appear on “Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1,” due out September 25, 2012 (according to Henry Adaso at About.com). Lupe Fiasco made it out of dire circumstances. No doubt. Besides his art, sad memories of those “who will never get out” fill his heart. During this interview, Lupe’s heart seemed to burst. Watching old video with show host Sway brought the pain of “ghosts” from his ‘hood to the surface; and it ached so much he had to cry…for most of the interview. You can feel the pain watching this. Of his hood, Lupe says, “THIS IS NOT GOOD.” Poignant testimony.

After all the controversy & supposed beef with Pete Rock over this “Around My Way” record that borrows from the classic Pete Rock & CL Smooth joint “T.R.O.Y.”, Lupe Fiasco finally reveals the brand new video for the single that will appear on his upcoming “Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album” project due September 25th. Lyrically Lupe doesn’t disappoint me in consistently delivering a message in his music just like the recently released “Bitch Bad” single people have been talking about over the last few days as well…..

New single from Lupe Fiasco for “Around My Way” (Freedom Ain’t Free) that will appear on his upcoming album “Food & Liquor 2” & it not only samples a classic record but the arrangement is very similar to Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s classic “T.R.O.Y.” (The Reminisce Over You). Personally I think Lupe should have maybe reached out to Pete Rock as a kind gesture before making this a single on his new album. Just out of respect if not for anything else. (Shrugs) Not long after this song debuted Pete Rock wasn’t too happy with it either speaking out from his twitter page…..Hopefully the brothas will “Straighten It Out”
