Presenting Large Professor, One Of The Architects of “Illmatic†(Video)
Yes, Large Professor is right: “Illmatic†has stood the test of time AND Nas is that god on the mic. Nas is nice!
“We’re rocking off the same energy, and it stood the test of time.”
Large Professor reflects on God’s Son’s transformation from rugged youth to internationally renowned writer… and how the two aren’t mutually exclusive.

Large Professor Compares Nas vs. Jay-Z Diss Tracks From Back In The Day (Video)
Nas was on his MONSTER back in the day! “Destroy And Rebuild” though… and you just thought “Ether” was mean… that’s just the version you heard! It could have been MUCH, MUCH worse.
In this clip, Large Professor reveals that the original instrumental for “Ether†was produced by Swizz Beatz, and that Nas ultimately censored the record before he decided to release it. From there, he recalls that some of the lyrics he took out had to do with Aaliyah’s plane crash, aimed at both JAY-Z and Dame Dash. Elsewhere, he also mentions that although he holds both records in high regard, he prefers JAY-Z’s “Takeover†on a musical level. With that said, he said he didn’t like “Super Ugly” at all, calling the record trash for its overwhelming disrespect towards Nas’ family.

Oowop The Don – “Day Wonin” feat. Large Professor x Royal Flush (Video)
Hoo hoooo! Oowop The Don taking NY back to the ’90s flow for real. And who better to have on board than Large Pro making mayhem! Yessir.
Oowop The Don returns to the game in elite form with authentic Queens support system fueled by The legendary Large Professor Of Main Source and the Governor of Flushing New York Hip Hop Icon Royal Flush. Oowop paints a vivid picture of urban life in the everyday hustle and the importance of your Day One family and friends to make it all work. Large Professor creates the perfect soundtrack to his lyrical movie as well as lends his vocal and infamous presence to the hook while Royal Flush sets the stage with an incredibly executed 16-bar massacre of the platform and complement Owoop’s pro-level performance. Day Wonin is a soon to be underground classic and head-nod inducing vibe record for the times with all the lovable sensibilities of a 90’s Classic.

Termanology – “Thot Pockets” feat. Artisin (Prod. By Large Professor)
Run the jingle in your head one time (“tHooooot Pooocketssss”), then press play and hear no more play-play. Large Pro sets the table with a nice clean beat for Term and Artisin to get downright greasy on!

Large Professor Talks About The Making Of Nas’ Classic “It Ain’t Hard To Tell” (Video)
Wow. It’s 24 years since “It Ain’t Hard To Tell†dropped. Large Professor did the beat with a ‘New York State Of Mind’ – a mind firmly focused on Queens.
We were heavy New York, so we weren’t thinking about the globe… We do what we do, and we put it down. And we’re just thankful that the world received it and loved it.
– Large Professor
That NY-minded track that the G.O.D.M.C. Nassir would lyrically bless would eventually bubble worldwide.
Watch above, as LargePro speaks on it.
Large Professor Speaks On The Kool G Rap x Bobby Brown Collabo That Never Was (Video)
This is absolute insanity. Just think about how the Hip-Hop timeline, f*ck it all of Hip-Hop reality, would have changed if Bobby Brown and Kool G Rap would have linked for an album… produced by Large Professor no less. In a word, wooowwwww!
Official 247HH exclusive interview with New York City-based Hip-Hop artist Large Professor, where you’ll hear about the Bobby Brown & Kool G Rap album that almost happened…
*Sigh* But for parties and lack of priorities though. Damn.
Nitty Scott MC – “We Are One” (Prod. By Large Professor)
Wait… you didn’t think the No Panty move was the only move Nitty was gonna make, did you? This pretty lady has a degree as an emcee (high-level), it’s in the name – Nitty Scott MC. She doesn’t make moves, she engages with gambits. The game’s chess, not checkers!
So, the latest part of her ‘collaborate with the greats’ gambit: How about a team up with Large Professor on some other sh!t? Yeah, how about it is right! Done. Listen up. And the link to “We Are One” (so dope!) is below.
Reks – “Gone Baby Gone” (Prod. By Large Professor)
And with “Gone Baby Gone†(produced by Large Professor), REKS has released “The Greatest X” (pronounced “The Greatest Unknown”). The single is yet another banger, but check out what REKS said about the long-awaited album…
Over the past two and a half years I have been recording songs with the understanding this would be album number 10 for me and thus something monumental. “The Greatest X” is a valuable addition to my catalogue; and an important album for Hip-Hop period. I liked the idea (double-album) because it would represent something special for album number 10. “The Greatest X” is more of an experience than it is an album. It is one of my proudest accomplishments.

Large Professor Takes His ‘Rhythm Roulette’ Challenge Seriously (Video)
Large Pro… They caught up with me… We gone do this Rhythm Roulette…
Amazing that this epic episode has not happened sooner. Large Professor has done legendary work for legendary emcees and singers. And now that it has happened, Large Pro declares several times in the clip above that he is “not just gone make some ol’ bullsh!t” – which he does NOT!
Yooo… if you are a spitter, you will WANT this beat for yourself!! Ha! You slept! Tragedy is already jumping the track. WOOOOOOO!
For this installment of Rhythm Roulette, we connected with Extra P, aka Large Professor. We took the legendary Queens producer to Human Head Records in Brooklyn, where he picked three random records to begin a game of Rhythm Roulette. He ended up grabbing an Instant Funk record, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes’ Black and Blue album, and Shirley Scott’s On A Clear Day. From there, Extra P began to go through the records and create some new heat from what he picked.
Shout out to Tragedy Khadafi for the cameo.

Large Professor Names His Top 5 Producers Of All-Time (Video)
If anyone can speak to a top 5 all-time list for Hip-Hop producers, it’d have to be a stalwart like Large Professor. Google-research it for yourself sometime if you need convincing (you don’t; take our word)… Large Pro is WORTHY! So who makes the cut? DJ Mark The 45 King, Easy Mo Bee, Marley Marl, Rick Rubin, DJ Premier and Pete Rock.
Wait… isn’t that SIX? Haaa! C’mon, give him one. Enjoyable sit-down with ‘Sway In The Morning’ (above) that includes more good Hip-Hop convo (including talk about his “Re:Living” release).

Cormega Builds Bridges with ‘Dead End HipHop’ on the Social Politics of ‘MegaPhilosophy’ (Video)
Honest criticism is becoming a lost art. Good thing nobody has told the clever folks over at DeadEndHipHop that. They continue to review and discuss HipHop in a forum that is delivered with honest opinions, examples and sometimes arguments that lead to you guessed it a Dead End.
They say down with Cormega during the A3C festival back in October and just released the visuals for that interview. Cormega performed on our Beatz & Lyrics Show/Jayforce.com showcase during the festival. The review is of “MegaPhilosophy”, Cormega’s recent album, entirely produced by Large Professor. The fellas Feefo, Kbinge, C-Town, and Beezy all give their thoughts on the album.  One of the highlights of the interview is Cormega interacting with Beezy who wasn’t that fond of some of the album’s message when they originally reviewed the album watch and see what happens.  So make sure you download the new mixtape “The Joint” brought to you by DeadEndHipHop & Salem Psalms Studio that features a track by Cormega CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD

Large Professor – “Own World” feat. Fortune (Video)
Some space age pimpin’ here. Nah, actually more like a celestial next level poetry. Sort of deep and intimate; but with Boogie Blind tossing in some well-placed scratches to balance the Fortune harmonies. It’s sweet every which way. Respect to Large Pro. Check out visuals for “Our World” above.
Big Noyd x Large Professor x Kool G Rap – “Naturally Born” (Cookin’ Soul Remix)
The Spanish duo Cookin’ Soul has one of the best track records at producing bangers from bangers; given their remix powers. The rapper Big Noyd, Large Professor and Kool G Rap are featured on this “Naturally Born.” Yeah. They took it back to early Golden Era on this redux! Check it out.

Cormega – “Rise” feat. Maya Azucena (Prod. By Large Professor)
Large Pro and Cormega’s album “Mega Philosophy” ought to be pretty beastly (posted earlier on it, see the link below). Two Hip-Hop vets make for a good bet. Here’s another taste test of it: “Rise” (featuring Maya Azucena). Don’t you enjoy the feel of a joint when everybody feels the joint… when the beatmaker stops and marvels as he shares his own genius (start of the video)? Yeah, you do. This is that. Watch and listen as all involved do their thing on the track.
Cormega – “Industry” (Prod. By Large Professor) [Video]
This is crazy. That’s why we ain’t got sh!t…
– Cormega
Cormega with visuals for his commentary on Hip-Hop today – “Industry” – a single of the LP entitled “Mega Philosophy” (available via the iTunes link below). The whole LP was produced by Large Professor. This one is a good look for the project. Great track… music laced with speech content from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.
Making The Beat: The 45 King Welcomes Large Professor And Operator EMZ (Video)
Great talk with Large Professor and Operator EMZ on the latest Making The Beat episode. Producing, DJ sets, 45s + other vinyl gems and more get touched on in the on-cam at-the-mic discussion with The 45 King. Looks like there’ll at least be a ‘part 2’ to this goodness, as this is ‘part 1.’ Watch and enjoy.
