“Hansen vs. Predator” To Pick Up Where “To Catch A Predator” Left Off (Video)
Yoooooo! Remember that “To Catch A Predator” show with Chris Hansen – where he’d catch the pervy pedophiles trying to set up trysts with preteens? Well, thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, it’s coming back! Reminisce with the above clip of another dude caught nearly in the act from a throwback episode.
Fundraising for Hansen’s new show, “Hansen vs. Predator,” surpassed its goal of $75,000 to reach $85,685. Learn more here.
The Kickstarter Fundraising Campaign For ‘Stretch And Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives’ Is Going On Now (Video)
A chance to contribute to the film that documents the contribution of two Hip-Hop radio icons. Man, Scarface was just talking about Stretch & Bobbito during that last radio interview we just posted here. Talk about full circle!
Peace! Stretch and Bobbito here, 25 years after our first WKCR broadcast. We’re amped to share the history of our landmark show in a feature length documentary titled STRETCH AND BOBBITO: RADIO THAT CHANGED LIVES (www.stretchandbobbito.com). The film, produced by Omar Acosta, was co-produced by us with Kool Bob Love directing and Stretchy music supervising. A classic combo, yo!
The documentary film is all but a reality, having surpassed its fundraising goal. But we linked the Kickstarter… still got a few days to kick in on it. The film is due out October 2015.
(Whew! Do you see all the folks that fell through the show back then??? History!)

Technology: The World’s First Hoverboard (Video)
Okay, you’ve seen some really cool hoverboard demos that were actually cool feats at film technology (e.g. camera tricks, with famous actors ‘witnessing’ the hovering). This ain’t that. This is Hendo Hover’s genuine Kickstarter video. The future is now.
Coolest line: “The wheel may finally have some competition.”
…And the founders promise those who ‘kick in’ will get a ‘starter’ kit; allowing them to demo the technology themselves (not the board, but a ‘white box’ hoverer that shows what the board will accomplish). Watch above. Follow the link to help fund the campaign (below).

Kickstarter: Massive Ammo For Your Next Water Balloon Fight (Video)
Maaann! This should be out NOW! Heads would getting splatted!! Haaaa. Water balloon fights were the best back in the day, but chances are you could only have one, two… maybe three on deck for the battle. Not a lot of ammo for a ‘sustained battle.’ And how many balloons popped or split at the lip when filling or stretching them over the faucet/spigot to start? Well, no more.
Yeah. Tinnus Enterprises’ Kickstarter page promises that Bunch O Balloons will fill and tie 100 water balloons in less than 1 minute. Oh, and for those who don’t care or don’t care for fun in general (haters). It doesn’t matter. Because the Kickstarter campaign is over 6900% funded. In fact, Tinnus is taking pre-orders right now for this party product (anticipated to market Spring-Summer 2015)!
Kudos to inventor Josh Malone (and his testers kids).
Technology: The Maker Of Hoverbike Needs Your Help To Make It A Reality (Video)
Kickstarter lets us fund everything; including the future! Check out the above video, and imagine being able to ride a Hoverbike. That’s right, you can be part of the creation of the world’s first flying motorcycle. Nice!
Declared “a revolution in aviation” by the project head, Chris Malloy, the Hoverbike is the result of years worth of R&D to combine the simplicity of a motorbike and the freedom of a helicopter. Cheaper, more rugged and easier to use, the Hoverbike flies like a quadcopter, and can be flown unmanned or manned, while being a safe – low level aerial workhorse with low on-going maintenance.
Oh yeah. This is happening. It’s over 66% funded already. Watch and wonder above. Follow the link to get in on this below.

Innovation: Get The ‘Coolest’ Cooler Ever Invented…First! (Video)
Daaaaaamn! How can you tell that your product idea is a smash? Well, put it up on Kickstarter with a $50,000 funding goal…and get over $4 million from online investors!!! That’s the Coolest cooler; and folks have invested en mass because they believe that a cooler with a built-in blender, ice crusher, waterproof USB speaker (networkable to smartphones’ music apps) and USB charger (to charge/recharge those smartphones) will sell like hotcakes on a Saturday morning!
Hey, watch the video…it is that cool of a cooler. The Coolest!
(Promised a first-run cooler for my Kickstarter money… How about a return on investment? With a decent expected payout I would buy my own Coolest cooler with the proceeds!)

Want To Help “The Legend of Swee’ Pea” Documentary Get Published? Here’s How (Video)
“People thought I was gonna die at 18 years old…”
– Lloyd “Swee’ Pea” Daniels
Lloyd “Swee’ Pea” Daniels is a basketball park legend!
– Pretty much everyone in the clip
Funding for a street baller who made it through hard times, drug charges, getting shot… and eventually into the NBA is storyboard life that screams documentary, right? Well, filmmaker Benjamin May is trying, but without an income stream the movie’s scream will fade away unanswered. The bright side is that the Kickstarter campaign is 60% funded; well over halfway, though not in the home stretch. You can help push it to completion with as little as a dollar and a web share.
Watch the clip above, and see what you are getting for your money. The film promises a look behind the legend label to expose the humanity of the man in telling the story of the basketball prodigy. Contribute at the Kickstarter link below. You can watch a message from May there, too.

“Hackney’s Finest” (Trailer)
A “lighthearted journey into the dark underbelly of London†that tells a story that includes Afghan heroin smugglers, Welsh-Jamaican arms dealers and Eastern-European skinheads…among other things… The movie “Hackney’s Finest” is all that with ‘fish & chips’ (a little UK humor y’all… c’mon).
The indie flick, written by Thorin Seex and directed Chris Bouchard, was well-funded by its Kickstarter campaign. Due out 2014, this is the trailer for “Hackney’s Finest.”
Spike Lee Vs. CNBC Analyst (Video)
‘Maybe you should stick to finance and not cinema.’
– Spike Lee to CNBC Analyst
Pow! Watch your mouth…sir. Spike goes on CNBC to talk about raising funds for his next project (which we posted on earlier here). In the clip above, he proclaims that movie fundraising is still a struggle for him. Always has been.
‘I was doing Kickstarter before there was Kickstarter… there was no Internet… Social media was me writing letters, getting on the phone…’
Spike Lee Speaks On His New Kickstarter Project, Gentrification In Brooklyn, & School Daze 2 (Video)
Got three clips’ worth of good watching on vanguard filmmaker Spike Lee. In the first clip, above, Vibe interviews Spike on the challenges of fundraising for filmmaking via his Kickstarter campaign for his next film and the criticism it will bring. Innovative approach though: Spike invites all levels of participation (from even 5 bucks to those that can chip in $10,000)… and offers some interesting prizes can win (including signed Nikes, dinner with Spike and courtside seats at a Knicks game).
See two more clips after the jump: on his views regarding gentrification of his hood and on revisiting a classic.
