Miguel is bringing in fellow L.A. native Kendrick Lamar for the remix to his popular “How Many Drinks?” song that appears on his Grammy nominated ‘Kaleidoscope Dream’ album. The “How Many Drinks” video was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Constellation Jones but check out the behind the scenes video above of what VIBE magazine describes as “the coming kings of rap and R&B” & the trailblazers to carry the baton for the next generation in their latest cover story. Looks like this is now the official video for 50 Cent’s latest single “We Up” record that previously featured Kendrick Lamar & his artist Kidd Kidd. We posted the original video a few weeks back, but 50 turns right around & delivers this brand new one with a new verse, more fly women, & more beautiful views in the new clip. Under the hood check out some footage of 50 Cent’s recent appearance on a German talk show. Be on the lookout for 50’s new album ‘Street King Immortal’ sometime later this year….

Compton emcee Kendrick Lamar’s latest big hit ‘B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe’ is one of my favorite songs from his critically acclaimed “good kid m.A.A.d city” album. For this particular remix he brings on Jay-Z & damn near bodies him on the third verse. Now that’s some ill lyricism….

Kendrick Lamar Performs on ESPN’s SportsNation (Video)

I was watching ESPN’s SportsNation hosted by Marcellus “DatDude” Wiley and Charissa Thompson as it aired live yesterday & their guests were 49ers starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick & Kendrick Lamar for SportsNation’s Madden Cover Vote kickoff special. When Kendrick was first introduced the music started to cue up for hit popular song “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” I chuckled because I knew there was no way in hell ESPN would allow him to get away with that so of course he did the self-edits & segued into “Girl Don’t Kill My Vibe”. Fortunately for Kendrick the audience didn’t sing the REAL chorus to the song which would have drove ESPN’s censors mad. Kendrick also performed his hit record ‘Poetic Justice’ for the SportsNation audience as well so check out both videos above & below….

Kendrick Lamar Freestyles on ‘The Ricky Smiley Morning Show’ (Video)

My homie Headkrack is a co-host on ‘The Rickey Smiley Morning Show’ on Hot 107.9 FM (Atlanta) & a skilled emcee in his own right. I chuckled to myself watching the video as Headkrack called out a rapper from St. Louis **Cough Nelly Cough*** who didn’t want to freestyle on the show, but their guest in the studio this particular day was not just some ‘ol basic rapper. Headkrack managed to coerce Kendrick Lamar to spit a very dope of-the-top freestyle while live on air. Good job, man. Kendrick, too. Hahaaaa! Now this is a true & perfect example of the difference between a rapper and an emcee.

What’s dope about performances on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ is that dope artists are brought together with the baddest Hip-Hop band in the land. Dopest band = The Roots. Dope artist = Kendrick Lamar. This live performance elevated the enjoyment of “Swimming Pools (Drank)” to another level. Nice!
