There’s some people who I’ve heard say that Kanye West’s new album ‘Yeezus’ was not very good, but often times I find the people making that assessment ONLY listen to rap & suffer from having a very limited worldview & musical palette. I have friends here in the states & overseas who love the ‘Yeezus’ album’s alternative & experimental musical direction. I dig the record but it’s important for me to note that I don’t listen to it with a hip hop enthusiast’s ear. Great artists are supposed to go against the grain of what everyone else is doing no matter if the final critiques are good or bad. Needless to say I was not surprised to hear BBC Radio host Zane Lowe rave about the album to Kanye in this in-depth interview as well. From many people I know around the world the ‘Yeezus’ album is very popular because it’s not a modern day rap album musically. The album strays from the typical ‘trap sound’ permeating commercial radio airwaves in the states & sticks out within Kanye’s own catalog. Check out the video above as this is just part 1 of a 4 part interview. Kanye West stopped by Jimmy Fallon’s show last night & performed his new single & my favorite song off of his new album “Yeezus”. I like the audio of this live version just as much as the original & this version isn’t without minor controversy as Kanye provides a funny jab at Brandy’s little brother Ray J in the opening line. Dope song, dope performance. Great setup for when Kanye’s upcoming ‘Yeezus’ tour that’s slated to kick off in October. You know Kanye does great live performances so I know many people will be waiting for this tour along with Kendrick Lamar.  BOUND!!

Kanye West Opens Up About Being an Artist, Love For The Kardashians and Being A Father To His New Daughter ‘Nori’ (Video)

Not really into keeping up with the Kardashians, but mom Kris Jenner did a solid interview with Yeezus here. Check it out on what’s being billed as the ‘finale’ (series or season finale? not sure) episode of the Kris Jenner Show. Insight and exposed inner feelings of Kanye West are brought front and center during this sit-down.
Speaking on being able to turn his ‘star quality’ off and on, Kanye shares, “When I’m walking down the street… I’m a bit more shy and nervous.”
Kris responding with understanding, relates fans’ demanding expectation that stars be stars ALL THE TIME: “When people see you, they just expect you to break into a performance.”
Interesting… The two go on to talk about Kanye’s love affair with Kris’ daughter, Kim Kardashian, their brand new baby girl (North West), his relationship with the press and more.

Pusha T’s latest single “Numbers On The Boards” produced by Kanye West & Don Cannon is one of my favorite hip hop joints to have been released as of late. Been bangin it out on my radio show religiously since we posted it up on this site about a month ago. While out in Paris France with Kanye West they shot a brand new video for the single that’s expected to appear on V.A. lyricist’s upcoming solo album entitled “My Name Is My Name” due July 16th. These are the types of heaters I thoroughly enjoy to hear from Pusha T. It’s that dopeness that makes you screw your face up something nasty! Warning: May cause CRAZY reactions.

Often when I bump into people on the street anywhere in the world & we bring him up I find people still haven’t made the connection yet as well. Once they do make that connection then they already know that Yasiin Bey will represent on stage no matter where he is on the planet. Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) – “The Light Is Not Afraid Of The Dark” (Produced By Kanye West) [Unreleased]

A short while back video hit the web of the artist Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, performing an unreleased song called ‘The Light Is Not Afraid Of The Dark’. You can check out the video from the live performance in Chicago after the jump, but thanks to the good people over at OKP the unreleased track has been unearthed. The Kanye West produced track was recorded during the time Mos Def was working on his ‘True Magic’ album although the song didn’t make the final cut. Seems there’s always a few quality gems like these that eventually get to see the light of day as compared to the thousands of recordings the public may never ever get to hear. As a Yasiin Bey/Mos Def & Kanye West fan I’m glad we were able to have the opportunity to peep this quality joint right here….

This joint will be on the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to “The Man With The Iron Fists” (a Quentin Tarantino film, directed by and starring RZA). What?? Where is the Air Marshall? Hahaaa! All of a sudden, dancers who were part of Kanye West’s Australian Tour 2012… did a choreographed dance routine… on an airplane… in flight! Where’s the choreographer, Yemi AD? Filming the @#$! thing, of course. This is crazy! But… there are worse “takeover situations” that could happen on a plane. I’ll bet folks were quickly able to get over an in-flight flash mob of beautiful women.
