DJ Khaled. John Legend. Nipsey Hussle…Rest In Paradise. POWERFUL visuals indeed. You might find a tear or two streaming for no reason. But we all know the reason. If only we knew this was the last time we’d actually “see” you, Nip.
Damn.
The music will keep taking us “Higher” though. And The Marathon Continues!

Ali: The Mission (Mini-Documentary)
Even before The Champ’s passing, you’ve probably heard about his nobility and heroism outside the ring. Given that, this 30-For-30 documentary short’s content may not shock you; but the story should warm your heart and make you miss him a little bit more.
Ambassador Ali. Fighting Parkinson’s all while winning over folks worldwide including Saddam Hussein; which was key. You’ll see why when you watch.

Kanye West Performing “Gold Digger” Back In 2003 (Video)
Yeezus H. West! Back before Ye went beast mode in the game, he was doing conference gigs just like a lot of cats… only they did not likely have John Legend on the keys. Ha!
The beat is waaaay different, less-evolved than what you’d recognize as “Gold Digger” but listen to the lyrics and there is no doubt. Watch some throwback Kanye goodness.
Lip Sync Battle: LL Cool J Hosts – John Legend vs. Common (Video)
Sure, they teamed up musically on that “Selma” movie soundtrack single “Glory”… but now… it’s competition! John Legend versus Common. Yeah, LIP SYNC BATTLE! Spike TV might have something here, at least for now. With A-listers like these miming out performances that channel the likes of Lionel Richie and MC Hammer, whoever wins, everyone wins! John Legend – “Glory” feat. Common (Video)
Freedom is a religion to us… When it go down, woman and man up!
– Common
There have certainly been times when the music made the movie. Now, while “Selma” has a powerful enough historical civil rights story to tell in itself, a powerful John Legend song (featuring Common) can only enhance the experience. Watch the video. It is not a trailer, but the visuals may make you want to see this in theaters all the more.
Inmates and Prison Officials Agree: “The House I Live In” Documentary Exposes The Failures of The U.S. War On Drugs Policy (Video)
HEADLINE: Inmates and Prison Guards AGREE on Failures of the Drug War!
Above is a behind-the-scenes teaser for a screening for Eugene Jarecki’s documentary “The House I Live In.” The venue: Joseph Harp Correctional Center (Lexington, Oklahoma, USA). Making a documentary at a jail… sure. But viewing it there, that’s different. But you know drug enforcement policy is more than a bit *messed* up if the C.O.’s and the prisoners can agree that it is!
See clips from the film (executive producers: Brad Pitt, John Legend, Russell Simmons and Danny Glover) after the jump. VERY interesting…

Snoop Dogg – ‘Eyez Closed’ feat. Kanye West & John Legend
When this song leaked on the web back in January with only Kanye & John Legend it became of my favorites that I played over & over again. I was wondering why Kanye didn’t include ‘Eyes Closed’ on his most recent MBDTF album because I felt like it would have been a waste of a great song. Well it seems like Snoop caught wind of the joint & holla’d at Kanye about it or it could have been Snoop’s song to begin with for his Doggumentary album due on March 29th. This joint is a hit in my opinion….I can see it with my eyes closed.
