Between the new BJ The Chicago Kid & Schoolboy Q video that just dropped & this new joint released from Joey Bada$$ this early morning, all these ‘Chicken’ references are making a brotha hungry on a late evening/early morning. Joey Bada$$ just served up this hot ‘Curry Chicken’ that was cooked up by the audio master chef himself ‘Statik Selektah’. This particular joint is going to be featured with the full meal on Joey Bada$$’s upcoming album “B4.DA.$$” that’s due on his upcoming 20th birthday this January 20th 2015.

I’m not too familiar with young upcoming emcee Joey Bada$$ but he’s been popping up on my radar more & more lately. It feels like true New York hip hop is coming back with young cats like him taking it back to the essence of what NYC & hip hop culture was truly built upon in terms of lyricism & content. This new video for “Waves” is interesting because I immediately recognized the Freddie Joachim instrumental, but its when Joey Badass lays his vocals over the original track that it’s immediately obvious that he made a quality song out of it. After watching the clip it made me go & start checking out his new “1999” mixtape from which the song appears. Dope video, Dope song, & a young hungry emcee with content making ‘waves’….
