Wise words are like water. Crystal clear and essential for life.

J-Live – “Red & The Kid”
This joint is dope!! But then again you can’t expect anything less than dopeness from the emcee, DJ & producer J-Live. The homie J-Live does the damn thing employing a ‘Greg Nice of Nice & Smooth lyrical flow’ for this homage to mixtape & radio deejays! Can’t wait to play this self-produced joint on my radio show! Make sure you cop J-Live’s upcoming album ‘His Own Self’ scheduled to drop March 17th on his ‘OWN’ label Mortier Music based here in Atlanta.

J-Live – “Not Listening” (Video)
New York raised but Atlanta based emcee J-Live drops a brand new video for ‘Not Listening’ off of his latest project ‘Around The Sun.’Â J-Live takes aim at the subpar rappers flooding the music industry with weak & uninspiring music. Big ups to the homie J-Live who also features a few cameos from a few of my friends in this new clip. My homie DJ Rasta Root (manager & DJ for Phife Dawg formerly of A Tribe Called Quest) sent me this video of him playing the wack rapper in the clip while the beautiful hip hop head & model Serena AZ is the fly honey making the visuals even more prettier. Word to the LYTE….Y’all need to STOP, LOOK, & LISTENNNNN to this!

J-Live – “Heaven” (Freestyle)
“Bite off more than you can chew, and it’ll hurt…” J-Live
J-Live doing lyrical righteousness on Jay Z’s “Heaven” instrumental off the “Magna Carta Holy Grail” album. Though there was not a FREE download for this freestyle, the cut will appear on J-Live’s upcoming FREE mixtape “This Is Chess Not Checkers.”
J-Live – “Headband” (Freestyle)
‘To reach the top they stoop so low…’ – J-Live
J-Live does some freestyle work on the B.O.B. track “Headband.” J-Live ain’t mad, he’s just calling out the fake… and the folks that allow fakeness to continue. Shots! Emcees get your bars tight. Turns out there’s some more fire spit over tracks… other than response after response to Kendrick’s “Control” verse. Y’all know that’s squashed, right (see the Arsenio Hall – Kendrick Lamar interview here)? Anyway, check out J-Live going in on one.
J-Live – “The Fun Razor” (Video)
Okay, J-Live. Visuals for “The Fun Razor” … letting the lyrics be the star. We posted on the single (audio) earlier here.

Lyric Jones – “Reasons Why” feat. Phene (Video)
Don’t tell me they’re not making good music out here. If you feel that way, stop listening to “them” and give these emcees a try. Don’t need to many “Reasons Why” (see what I did there?), as Lyric Jones and Phene will give you the only reason you need… They make good music… and videos (like this one directed by Lyric herself)! Not enough? How about we bribe you with a FREE download?
