A controversial White House policy turns family member against family member in THE OATH, a savagely funny dark comedy about surviving life and Thanksgiving in the age of political tribalism. When Chris (Ike Barinholtz), a high-strung 24-hour progressive news junkie, and his more level-headed wife Kai (Tiffany Haddish) learn that citizens are being asked to sign a loyalty oath to the President, their reaction is disbelief, followed by idealistic refusal. But as the Thanksgiving deadline to sign approaches, the combination of sparring relatives, Chris’s own agitation and the unexpected arrival of two government agents (John Cho and Billy Magnussen) sends an already tense holiday dinner gathering completely off the rails. As timely as it is outrageous, THE OATH is a gleefully wicked reinvention of the traditional holiday comedy for our divisive political times.

This family needs to chill. Maybe they should have skipped the roasting (turkey, verbally poking each other) and gone with ‘smoking’ (turkey, and maybe toking with each other). But then we wouldn’t get this level of Haddish hilarity on screen (hahaa)!

Howwww biiiig is thiiis?! Son. Netflix got Will Smith. NETFLIX. Got. Will SMITH! When you take a star like Smith and put him in the space of Netflix, it’s really like smashing atoms in a star. Nuclear fusion! Expect the resulting reaction to burn hot and shine “Bright” like… Okay, you get it. Play the trailer above. Looks dope.
Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. Bright is genre-bending action movie that follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward (Will Smith) and Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it.
Bright is available only on Netflix this December.
