Game recognize game. Detroit recognize Detroit. Beatmaster recognize Beatmaster James ‘J Dilla’ Yancey the late and still great! The beatmaster party of the first part, well that’s House Shoes. Doing what he do, he decided to tap back into that DJ House Shoes part of himself and digs deep into some crates to take us deep into Dilla’s sample vault for this “KJVIII” mix. Nice.

Okay, they all go in… but Roc Marci… woooo! Like he was going for that Raekwon spot!! That’s how Hip-Hop is done; CohenBeats Remix of “Dirt” (off House Shoes’ LP “Let It Go” – featuring OhNo, The Alchemist and Roc Marciano with the strong finish).
When I was in Tel Aviv a few weeks ago I linked with the homie CohenBeats (@cohenbeatsaredope).
While we were chillin’ he played me a joint that had an ill intro on it,
and I told him it would be a great fit for a remix of the Dirt joint off of
Let It Go, my debut record from a few years back. He put it together and here you go.

By unreleased, we mean aside from a handful of folks (most at Slum Village shows in the 1990s), NO ONE has experienced it. As our guide, Detroit producer House Shoes takes us through the music in this video Bling47 calls “Feelin Good” (filmed, edited, and animated by Waajeed)…referencing a rare J Dilla cover of “Feelin Good†(a song made famous by Nina Simone).

This is more than a video. It’s an EXPERIENCE! “Time” is the first single off House Shoes‘ debut album, “Let It Go.” By the way, House Shoes’ team is relentless: Even before releasing this “first” single, the label allowed another heater from “Let It Go” called “Nailsâ€Â (featuring Quelle Chris and Guilty Simpson) to leak. Of course, we posted that here. You’ve got to respect the grind (and the tracklist…two hot singles already)! Respect to Mario “Khalif” Butterfield (excellent video direction), Big Tone (excellent rhyme delivery), and House Shoes (excellent production)! Due out today, House Shoes drops his debut release, “Let It Go.” While this is truly his debut, House Shoes’ is a respected Hip-Hop veteran among heads; with production credits for projects featuring Proof (D12), J Dilla, Elzhi, and Danny Brown and deejay work put in for Black Milk, Slum Village, and many others. “Let It Go” will consist of two parts, a disc of album cuts with emcees spitting over tracks (track listing below) and a second disc with just the instrumentals.  Shortly before its release, House Shoes leaked “Nails” – a single off his album featuring Detroit emcees Quelle Chris and Guilty Simpson. Now this is some straight up dopeness right here from Detroit DJ & producer House Shoes called “Sweet” featuring Detroit emcee Danny Brown. This is that hardcore hip hop right here & ironically there’s nothing ‘sweet’ about it at all from the subtle beat changes within the song to the mono sounding texture used on Danny Brown’s mic while ripping through his rhymes. The song appears on House Shoe’s new EP he just released called “The Time” on itunes but it the song will also appear on his first official album called “Let It Go” due June 19th.

Spotted this joint over at OKP & couldn’t get over how dope & beautiful this song is. Detroit producer & DJ House Shoes brought along his homegirl singer Jimetta Rose for “Castles” (The Sky Is Ours) which is a tribute to their fallen friend “J1” who passed away in November of last year. The release of this tribute coincides with what would have been their fallen friend’s birthday this week. The song will appear on House Shoes’ upcoming album but can also be copped via bandcamp or making a donation to J1’s family at the link HERE.
