Styles P – “Energy” (Freestyle) [Video]
Styles P stairwelling and rooftopping it as he pops off bar after bar of heat in this hood video for his “Energy” freestyle. The Ghost goes in over the borrowed beat from Drizzy. Street lyrics paired well with visual delivery that is so gritty.
King Los Kills his Freestyle on Sway In the Morning (Video)
There was a time when if you were a rapper and you went on a Hip Hop Show guess what you did? Â You would actually go on there and Rap, Freestyle at worst kick a written verse just perform at least. Â This is not the case today it is not required or asked of to have artists get busy on the mic. Â Sway who hosts Sway in the Morning on Sirius radio keeps the tradition alive by having emcees do what he calls the 5 fingers of death. Â Where he changes up the beat and periodically throws out words that the emcee has to keep the freestyle going based off those words. Â He had King Los stop by and it’s safe to say that Los snapped during this segment. Â Successfully completing the 5 fingers of death and continuing to freestyle acapella for an additional two minutes on his own. Â This had Sway talking his talk about wack excess along with Heather B! Pick up King Los new album God, Money War out now on iTunes
Wack emcees stay home with your broke baby mother who can’t buy you a movie screen for your video games N@!*A – Heather B

This time the Sheek Louch gets busy over ONYX’s 1995 underground classic ‘Walk In New York.’ Bangin’ 90s beats & 2015 bars! Another Desert Storm downloadable Hip-Hop quotable jam-packed jam from the Fab man (and DJ Clue). Ooh, did you hear him say he’ll “put the paws on you and Li’l Scrap you dude?” Like Big Daddy Kane’s homie Scrap knocking fools out? Maybe? Be gangsta if that was the reference.

Tony Yayo – ‘Ninjas Talk Sh*t’ / ‘Front Door’ / ‘Southside’
It’s good to see many rappers reaching back to the 90s for inspiration for most of their new music as of late. Especially rappers from NY & the east coast doing NY sounding records. G-Unit hitman Tony Yayo is the latest to jump into the ring with this freestyle over Black Moon’s grimy album track “Niguz Talk Shit†from their classic debut album ‘Enta Da Stage.’ After the jump check out Tony Yayo’s freestyle over the Main Source classic ‘Lookin At The Front Door’. Freestyles over 90’s classics?! I can dig it.

Fashawn ‘Murders The Mic’ Like A ‘ShowOff’ with Statik Selektah (Video)
While making his media related runs promoting his new album, Cali emcee Fashawn stopped through Sirius XM radio to kick it with Statik Selektah & DELIVERED! Fashawn kills his freestyle right here during Statik Selektah’s Show Off Radio show. It’s rare that rappers get on the radio & straight murder the mic like this these days! I know Nas is happy he signed Fashawn to his Mass Appeal records & Fashawn even makes an ill Bravehearts reference in his freestyle too. Cock back, Click Clack…BARS!   MURDAAAA!
Ludacris – “Lunch Money” (Freestyle)
Pusha T’s banger ‘Lunch Money’, produced by Kanye West, was one of my favorite joints in recent months that I would play frequently on my radio show. It looks like even Ludacris recognized this banger needed to be touched by him lyrically. Peep Chris Lova Lova’s freestyle over this ‘Lunch Money’ joint.
Classic Clips: Ol Dirty Bastard x GZA Freestyling in 1991 (Video)
ODB and GZA freestyling… in the bathroom! How real is that? How classic!! This is how we used to do. Wonder of music box caught anybody ‘catching wreck’ (so Golden Era today) in the cafeteria. Beatboxing is one thing, but nothing beats a beat beat out on a lunchroom table.
