Lupe Fiasco – “Around My Way” (Freedom Ain’t Free) [Video]
After all the controversy & supposed beef with Pete Rock over this “Around My Way” record that borrows from the classic Pete Rock & CL Smooth joint “T.R.O.Y.”, Lupe Fiasco finally reveals the brand new video for the single that will appear on his upcoming “Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album” project due September 25th. Lupe Fiasco – “Around My Way” (Freedom Ain’t Free)
New single from Lupe Fiasco for “Around My Way” (Freedom Ain’t Free) that will appear on his upcoming album “Food & Liquor 2” & it not only samples a classic record but the arrangement is very similar to Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s classic “T.R.O.Y.” (The Reminisce Over You). Personally I think Lupe should have maybe reached out to Pete Rock as a kind gesture before making this a single on his new album. Just out of respect if not for anything else. (Shrugs) Not long after this song debuted Pete Rock wasn’t too happy with it either speaking out from his twitter page…..Hopefully the brothas will “Straighten It Out”
