Tre Mason, Son of ‘De La Soul’s Maseo, Is A Young Upcoming College Football Star (Video)
Ah… kids today… with their Waka Flocka music and their NCAA Division I football scholarships… and WHOOAAAA! That’s right! Tre Mason, Auburn University’s young return man and running back has definitely made his pop proud…on the field, at least… Hahaaa! See, the second-year Freshman really is a Waka Flocka fan; though his dad (DJ Maseo of the legendary group De La Soul) has caught him listening to some Golden Era Hip-Hop on occasion.
I caught commentary about Mason as Auburn won its nail-biter against Lousiana-Monroe last weekend. After the game, I searched the ‘Net and found articles and video (like that shared above) on the up-and-coming gridiron star. Good stuff. Keep it up, kid! Read the nice article on Tre linked after the jump.
Full disclosure: Though I do wish the best for young Tre, I cannot root for him every game week. You see, I am a two-time alum of The University of Alabama (Auburn’s cross-state rival). See you at the Iron Bowl, young Mason. Heh heh hehhh… Roll Tide!

NFL WR Calvin “Megatron” Johnson Featured On ESPN’s ‘E:60’ Program (Video)
Calvin “Megatron” Johnson is arguably the most dominant wide receiver in the NFL today & ESPN’s E:60 program did a feature on him that I had watched live when it aired. Despite being nicknamed “Megatron” by his teammates & doing well in the league, Calvin Johnson appears to be a very grounded, non-diva attitude wearing wide receiver in the NFL. This mini-documentary hosted by ESPN’s Lisa Salters does provide some insight as to who Megatron really is when he transforms off the field into Calvin Johnson.

Buffalo Bills’ Shawne Merriman’s NFL Comeback Workout (Video)
Shawne Merriman is looking forward to the next NFL season; and he DEFINITELY plans to be there in solid form! Check this vignette to see how he is working his way back to being in prime condition (after his achilles injury) over the break. Man, note the intelligence built into this workout: No slacking, but no uselessness (i.e. not necessary to run 10 miles to workout when Merriman will never run more than a few yards a play). Impressive all around. Morning motivation!

Ken Griffey Jr’s son, ‘Trey Griffey’, is an All-American High School Wide Receiver (Video)
Baseball Hall Of Famer, Ken Griffey Jr’s son, Trey Griffey, is making his own mark in sports but not in hitting the long ball. He’s catching the long ball as an All-American Wide Receiver. Read more from USATODAY below…
Comedy: Fake Kyle Orton’s Farewell To Tim Tebow & the Denver Broncos (Video)
Of course this is not former Denver Broncos Quarterback Kyle Orton, but this is still hilarious. The Denver Broncos continue to win despite Tim Tebow’s very suspect passing capabilities. Kyle Orton may have gotten a raw deal after dissing Tim Tebow then subsequently getting waived & ending up in Kansas City. Although this is pure comedy it’s probably how Kyle Orton is feeling right now. Hahaa! Meanwhile Tim Tebow is celebrating while dancing to the tune of “All I Do Is Win” below….

Madden 12 Preview (Video)
Today’s post will have an NFL flavor to it cause I’m EXTRA happy that football is back. We missed the Hall of Fame game, but tonight we finally get some AKSHUN. It’s kinda weird for the season to have started and I don’t have the new Madden yet so here is a preview.
The Oakland Raiders To Officially Announce Hue Jackson As Head Coach
The tweet above may not mean much to most of you, but I’m an Oakland Raiders fan. It’s official…..Al Davis hires Hue Jackson as our new head coach. Despite Al Davis being sometimes portrayed as being quite eccentric, he has probably hired more black head coaches than any other team in the NFL if I’m not mistaken. That’s great, but black or not you still have to ‘Just Win Baby’. Hue Jackson is largely credited for turning the season around this past year for the Raiders. Hopefully it’ll be a good 2011 for the Raiders if the NFL doesn’t have a lockout.
