R&B: Jhené Aiko – “Hello Ego” feat. Chris Brown (Prod. Dot Da Genius x Fisticuffs)
Jhené Aiko Chilombo has done it again! Um, “Hello Ego”… we mean, she and Chris Brown – with the production of Dot Da Genius and an assist from Fisticuffs – did it again. You don’t just go and make an R&B hit by yourself, Aiko. You know?
(She knows.)

KiD CuDi – “Going To The Ceremony” (Prod. By WZRD)
“You don’t know where you’re going. You’re going. It’s all happening.” – KiD CuDi
A dark, spaced-out track laid by WZRD (production duo Dot Da Genius and CuDi) is the backdrop for KiD CuDi’s chants and lyrics on “Going To The Ceremony.”
Kid Cudi – “Teleport 2 Me” (Video)
This Kid Cudi music video for his single “Teleport 2 Me” was a hard find. The single is off his experimental alternative Hip-Hop album “WZRD” – a collaboration with Dot Da Genius. The song was out a good while ago, but the video only recently got put out. Then… it started disappearing from video and blog sites. Strange. Oh, well… The video, directed by Walter Robot, is a conceptually deep wailing tune about Cudi missing his mate; and that comes through in the scenes – Kid Cudi going on a trippy journey from his room, into the wilderness, into outer space (more like ‘other’ space) and back… It’s a surreal experience. Note: Cleveland’s own Cudi has an album entitled “Indicud” coming out soon (early 2013). So soon, that it may make this “Teleport” experience a distant memory. Get some of this now though, because it’s definitely dope!
Check out the “Behind the Scenes” video after the jump for insights on the video concept, too. They put in work. Nice.

WZRD – “Brake”
All of Kid Cudi’s albums have had a not so subtle rock element to them so I’m not surprised when he announced months back that he was forming a band called “WZRD” (Wizard) with producer Dot Da Genius. I’m a fan of Kid Cudi’s music largely because I don’t listen to his music the same as if I’d listen to the average hip hop album. Different moods entirely. The upcoming WZRD album is a birth of sorts for Mr. Scott Mescudi’s focused direction on the rock side of the music so it’s fitting that the album will be released on his birthday January 30th. Great things happening for the ‘Kid’ especially with his acting career also taking off on the new HBO series “How To Make It In America”. Well here’s the first single from the WZRD project called “Brake”…
