L.E.P. Bogus Boys – “Rush Hour” feat. Meek Mill (Video)

Above is the music video for a leak from the L.E.P. Bogus Boys’ mixtape, “Now or Neva” (produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E League) entitled “Rush Hour” (and featuring Meek Mill). The beat hits hard, and in the lyrics the guys drop are as dark and gritty as the grindhouse-style visuals delivered by Open World Films. Check it. Get the mixtape (hosted by DJ Green Lantern) for FREE at the link provided here.

Russian Interview (Producer/Artist)

This morning we talk to Russian the lead producer from Head Concussion Records and we find out how this ‘young-aged’ man has managed to stay in the league of successful professionals in Jamaica. He tells us about dealing with local artists trying to get signed to the label, the beginning of becoming an artist himself which included voicing a combination with Konshens. Russian credits the work ethic of himself and Vybz Kartel for their success thus far and salutes the other producers in the reggae industry who are also helping to keep ‘Reggae’ alive just as much as Dancehall.

Estelle – ‘Thank You’ (Video)

Gotta salute Estelle with this video as we see some candid shots of this soulful singer and her life on tour. Cameos in the end included the wicked producer Jazzwad, celebrity dancer John Hype, Beenie Man, Patexx, Iyara, Bawse Dawg and the Grung Gaad himself Bounty Killer as she stopped of in Jamaica. This song is off her album All Of Me and was also featured on the Love Ultra Mix CD – Part Two.

A funny scene is her being led to the stage to perform on the beach and she looking back at security guard like ‘HELP NUHH’ and then her trying to form the ‘A’ with her fingers to rep for ‘The Alliance’. As we celebrate Jamaica’s 50th year of Independence… This reminds me why ‘Jamaica Nice!’

Yolanda Zellous Love Ultra Radio Interview with Jah Prince

Yolanda Zellous Interview

Now let me start this post carefully… this interview with author Yolanda Zellous was about her new book ‘Big Boned Women’. I will try to invite her and the plus sized models she represents c/o Star Sized Studios for part two of the interview BUT let me just whistle the song, “i like big butts and I cannot lie….”. In the book the women share their personal life experiences to provide a clear illustrated message that will create a new reflection of confidence in big boned women. This book shows that she is also a ‘queen of all trades’ including scouting talent for movies and plays. Enjoy the music mix also following the talking.

House Shoes – “Sweet” feat. Danny Brown

Now this is some straight up dopeness right here from Detroit DJ & producer House Shoes called “Sweet” featuring Detroit emcee Danny Brown. This is that hardcore hip hop right here & ironically there’s nothing ‘sweet’ about it at all from the subtle beat changes within the song to the mono sounding texture used on Danny Brown’s mic while ripping through his rhymes. The song appears on House Shoe’s new EP he just released called “The Time” on itunes but it the song will also appear on his first official album called “Let It Go” due June 19th.

DJ Jazzy Jeff x Señor Kaos – “Peter Piper” (Jam Master Jay Tribute)

Just a few days ago on January 21st we would have celebrated the 47th birthday of the legendary Jam Master Jay of Run DMC. Unfortunately the world is unable to celebrate his contributions to hip hop & DJ culture with him in the physical form due to his untimely death, but that doesn’t stop many people like DJ Jazzy Jeff & Señor Kaos from honoring him with this tribute track that I believe was first premiered on DJ Mick Boogie’s Run DMC tribute mixtape.
