DJ Fudge – “Freeplay Friday” (May Edition) [Mixtape]
So this runs like a Mother’s Day mix, but it’s a May mix. This extended holiday being the start of the ending for May… we ought to be able to rock out to this. Yeah, shout to DJ Fudge, One Captain Productions, and I Lex Project for this!
Event: Hip-Hop Stew Launch Party
Was checking out Techniques Radio on WREK.org last night and they got the word out on this Hop Stew Launch Party. Looks like a good look for the long weekend. Consider chilling and partying with a cause for at least part of this party weekend. More, much more, at HopStew.com but here’s a good blurb on the event…
Hop Stew Launch will be a fun-filled day party with performances from Hip-Hop legend El Da Sensei of The Artifacts, Shabaam Sahdeeq, John Robinson, Beneficence, Stahhr and Phoenyx. It’s going to be a boom bap extravaganza for true Hip-Hop lovers! Our launch will be hosted by Fort Knox! Music will be provided by DJ Dug Boogie and DJ Fudge. Patrons can enjoy an amazing art exhibit. Hop Stew will be donating a portion of all funds raised at launch to the Kidney Foundation. In 2016, our beloved Dug Boogie was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) which there is no cure for. Boogie needs a kidney transplant. So, one can only imagine why The Kidney Foundation is a cause dear to our hearts. The launch is geared towards raising funds and awareness. Hop Stew is Hip-Hop for a cause!

Events: The #DearDilla Private Video Screening In Atlanta with Phife Dawg (The @KoolKila Report)
Thursday night, February 6, 2014, the Atlanta music community came together for a special video premier party, celebrating the new solo release from Phife (A Tribe Called Quest). “Dear Dilla†pays tribute to the legendary hip hop producer James Yancey, aka J Dilla. The single drops in time for the yearly “Dilla Day†celebration of the famed producer’s birthday in February. J Dilla produced classic songs for A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, De La Soul, Common, The Roots, and is very notably admired for his solo albums and work with Slum Village. He died from a rare blood disease in 2006.
The new single, “Dear Dilla,†produced by DJ Rasta Root (longtime friend and DJ of Phife and A Tribe Called Quest), is Phife’s first new music in over 13 years. He participated in a Q&A with DJ Rasta Root, video director Konee Rok and independent Atlanta artist 4-Ize (co-star in the video). Also on hand for special performances was rap artist and MC Boog Brown (who performed J Dilla’s material), and DJ Fudge of 5 Star Generals.
Held at Landmark’s Midtown Art Cinema theatre, the video release party played host to many of Atlanta’s music trendsetters, DJs, journalists, music connoisseurs and fans. The video premier was hosted by Jayforce of the Beatz & Lyrics show (WRFG FM). Sponsors of the event included Whole Foods, Jayforce.com, Okayplayer.com, Mono, and Zico Coconut Water . Event production by Riddim Kidz, Smokin Needles, SOciaLight and The Agency.
The single “Dear Dilla†is now available to purchase on iTunes.

DJ Fudge Presents ‘Hush Hush’ 5 Hip Hop Instrumental Mixtape
My homie DJ Fudge is back with another edition of his ‘Hush Hush’ series of instrumental mixtapes. If you’re not aware, ‘Hush Hush’ is a mixture of downtempo and hip hop instrumentals from the veteran Atlanta turntablist. Although this is the 5th edition of the popular series, this time around DJ Fudge decided to pick out new up and coming producers to highlight like Shade Cobain, Illastrate, Eric Lau, & Melo X as well as veteran producers in the game such as Pete Rock, DJ Spinna, King Brit, & Fat Jon. This project is blended very well creating a quality audio soundscape that you can easily ride & vibe too. If you’re ever in Atlanta you can catch DJ Fudge spinning regularly at MJQ Concourse on Ponce De Leon Ave. Check out the complete tracklisting under the hood…..Now STFU!!!
