Former Lions’ Receiver Visits With The Raiders In Camp (Video)

Oh… So he is visiting the Raiders as a ‘special guest’ huh? Is that what they are calling it nowadays? Hahaaa! Yeah, the Raiders are probably looking a might sight better than Calvin “Megatron” Johnson’s former squad.
So how do you lose Megatron? That is the question NFL fans might have posed to the Detroit Lions organization when Calvin Johnson announced his retirement in 2016. Maybe pride would have kept them from giving a frank answer, but Calvin can now give his answer: Nine years in a brutal league on a losing team that was not making any real moves to win.
Wow.
Can’t blame the man though. He was a marquee player putting in world class work; the kind that kept him on highlight reels… in spite of lackluster Lions team performance. Watch the ‘puff piece’ above, and read the real talk the NY Daily News got from Johnson via the link below.

R&B Legend “Marvin Gaye” Once Tried Out For The Detroit Lions (Video)

Stop us if you’ve heard this one: 1968 Detroit Lions standout (and eventual NFL Hall-Of-Famer) Lem Barney was out playing golf near R&B great Marvin Gaye’s house and was like ‘why not get his address and stop by and meet Marvin?’
No?
Well, we hadn’t heard of such either… or that Gaye (a sports fanatic as much as a Motown music phenom) had ambitions for the gridiron… until this ESPN segment. Wow! Watch above.

NFL WR Calvin “Megatron” Johnson Featured On ESPN’s ‘E:60’ Program (Video)

Calvin “Megatron” Johnson is arguably the most dominant wide receiver in the NFL today & ESPN’s E:60 program did a feature on him that I had watched live when it aired. Despite being nicknamed “Megatron” by his teammates & doing well in the league, Calvin Johnson appears to be a very grounded, non-diva attitude wearing wide receiver in the NFL. This mini-documentary hosted by ESPN’s Lisa Salters does provide some insight as to who Megatron really is when he transforms off the field into Calvin Johnson.
