The documentary takes you behind the scenes as the famed rapper prepares to take the stage at the Majestic Theatre in his very own hometown. Like any return to the place you grew up, the journey is filled with hilarious stories of youthful misdeeds, wrestling with a new and more honest assessment of home and a deeper understanding of yourself. What Cohn delivers is both an intimate and poignant conversation with Brown and a wholly entertaining rock doc featuring explosive concert footage.

Now this is some straight up dopeness right here from Detroit DJ & producer House Shoes called “Sweet” featuring Detroit emcee Danny Brown. This is that hardcore hip hop right here & ironically there’s nothing ‘sweet’ about it at all from the subtle beat changes within the song to the mono sounding texture used on Danny Brown’s mic while ripping through his rhymes. The song appears on House Shoe’s new EP he just released called “The Time” on itunes but it the song will also appear on his first official album called “Let It Go” due June 19th.

This guy Paul White is new to me. Apparently he is a Drummer from from the UK. I’d really like to hear how this collab with Detroit’s Guilty Simpson came about. I’ll work on that but in the meantime. Paul White toured with Tricky, a UK based artist who has worked with a LONG list of notable artist. His new project is called Rapping with Paul White and features Guilty Simpson, Danny Brown, Homeboy Sandman, Marv Won among others. Check him out here. This track is cool. I’m definitely digging the vibe.
