It’s about that time again for musicians to submit their applications to attend the Red Bull Music Academy that will be held in NYC this year from September 30 – November 2, 2012.  The Red Bull Music Academy is an international workshop that was founded in 1998, and touches down in a different city each year.  Last year the workshops were held in Madrid Spain & artists like Erykah Badu, Young Guru, MF Doom, Bootsy Collins, Chic & more either performed or lectured during the symposium.  How it works is two groups of 30 successful applicants, themselves representing a diverse range of music styles and methodologies, attend lectures by musical pioneers, and work on their own tunes in custom-built studios. By night, they have the chance to perform in some of the host city’s most iconic clubs and concert halls.  Atlanta has been fortunate in that a few participants have come from this city in DJ Rasta Root & most recently producer Slide 20 XL who attended Georgia State University here in Atlanta.  There’s no age limit, but you must be 21 to enter & it’s totally free to apply so if you or anybody you know of is an aspiring artist, DJ, Producers, emcees or all around musician that would be interested just tell them to go to the link below & download the application.
