Coldplay “Music Of The Spheres” Tour Atlanta 2022 – JAYFORCE.COM
Coldplay is one of our favorite bands of this generation & this world-renown group haven’t been to Atlanta that often over the years so this show for attendees would be nothing less than special. The last time Coldplay performed live in Atlanta was back in 2012. Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay acknowledged the significance of their return to Atlanta this past June 11th on Saturday night. Chris Martin explained that prior to their first ever show in Atlanta more than a decade ago, they weren’t doing well or maybe things weren’t going as they expected as a band. Their first ever show in at Atlanta was at the popular concert venue “The Tabernacle” & the show turned out so well for them that he said it was a significant turning point in their careers afterward. Coming out of the pandemic amidst everything else going on in the world, Coldplay’s Atlanta’s return was nothing less than visibly electric & spectacular for the 70,000+ sold out show at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
This Coldplay “Music Of The Spheres” show has been one of the best concerts we’ve attended by any artist in years. The stadium roof was open, the fireworks, the lasers, the LED wristbands given to fans, & the four different stages strategically positioned at various points on the floor all worked out perfectly in unison for one of the best shows I’ve ever attended. The band brought out surprise guest & Atlanta native Kelly Rowland at one point in the show for an acoustic cover of “Independent Women” from her time with her group Destiny’s Child. Prior to introducing Kelly Rowland to the crowd Chris Martin spoke to the audience about how when Coldplay was a new band with little money, not very fashionable & some notoriety via their one hit song that was hovering around the mid 20s on the UK charts, they met Destiny’s Child at UK televison show “Top Of The Pops.” This was the initial meeting & beginning of their friendly relationship as artists in the music industry. It was fitting that the band started their show with their song “Higher Power” as its noted that most of the performance at Mercedes-Benz stadium was powered by green energy. Fans that danced & moved around on the floor of the stadium powered many of the lights & prior to the show beginning their were people riding stationary bikes which interestingly assisted in this green energy task. It’s just one of the many efforts that band has been supporting in making the planet better as well as continuing to making the world better through music. Check out some exclusive videos above & below from the JAYFORCE.COM crew covering the event…

The “Digable Planets” Align at Saturn in Birmingham (Concert Footage & Show Recap)
The classic album Reachin (A New Refutation of Time & Space) was released in 1992/1993. This was an iconic year for me because I graduated high school in 1993. At this point I was a bonafide lover of Hip Hop and the Digable Planets helped to make that love stronger with this classic work. The only problem was at that time I lived in Montgomery and there was no way that the Brooklyn trio would be doing a show in the capital city of Alabama.
Fast forward 23 years and I continue to love Hip Hop and now even meet & interview artists that I love. While back home in Montgomery visiting family the planets align for me literally. I see that a show is listed to rock in Birmingham, AL an hour away Wednesday July 20th. Without hesitation I purchase ticket online hop in the ride 65 N bound to finally see one of my favorite groups live.

Rewind: Kendrick Lamar’s Breakout Performance in Atlanta 2011 (Video)
Before he was selling out The Tabernacle (historic concert venue in ATL) or playing Music Midtown, one of the largest festivals in Atlanta, a young Kendrick Lamar rocked the stage at the Masquerade back on April 2, 2011. Well before his albums “GKMC” and “To Pimp A Butterfly“, young “KDot” made noise & grew his fanbase off of his mixtapes.  I was in attendance for this show along with my radio co-host Jayforce to see him perform.  We were guests for Kendrick’s show in part because our program The Beatz & Lyrics Show was the first show playing Kendrick’s music in Atlanta on a regular basis & we also conducted his first Atlanta radio interview. So naturally we looked forward to finally seeing him in person.  He did not disappoint it’s crazy to look back now because Ali, his famed engineer, was his DJ that night and his hype man was Schoolboy Q who at the time was only known by a few die hard TDE fans. This particular show was Kendrick’s official breakout show in Atlanta when you knew he was going to be a star on a larger level. Kendrick made a lot of fans that night and it doesn’t surprise me at all the success he has gained.  So check out this vintage footage I shot of him rocking the crowd before the albums, before the baby twist dreads, & before the worldwide acclaim.

Kanye West Headlines The Lollapalooza Tour In Chile (Video)
This is just another example of how I keep telling people that Kanye West is a bigger artist internationally than Jay-Z. I’ve travelled around the world enough to see it first hand in multiple countries. In this video above Kanye headlines a recent show for Lollapalooza down in South America with Pusha T in tow. The crowd is singing Kanye’s songs word for word down there in Chile & they don’t even speak english as their primary language. Anyone who’s travelled the world enough will tell you that around the globe the two biggest hip hop artists are Kanye West & Eminem. Both 50 Cent & Snoop Dogg would also edge out Jay-Z in terms of Global popularity. Jay-Z opened up for U2 in Australia a few months back & couldn’t even get the stadium a quarter full during his set. Check out more video from the show under the hood & watch how Kanye has the crowd ROCKIN!!!!
