Sundance Film Festival: Common Stars in New Film “LUV” (Video)

One of the more promising independent films being screened at the Sundance Film Festival from January 19-29th this year is a story about an ex-con played by Common who is “Uncle Vincent” to his nephew, played by Michael Rainey Jr., who had just become an orphan. Common takes his young nephew with him on a business trip that spirals him right back down the deadly path he’s been trying to avoid in the first place. The film also stars Danny Glover, Megan Good, Michael K. Williams, & Charles S. Dutton & the story is set in Baltimore. More clips from the film & movie poster under the hood below….

Shout out to the homie Wilt for putting us on the guestlist for this event that took place tonight at the new Vanquish nightclub on Peachtree street here in Atlanta. . Common’s new album “The Dreamer, The Believer” is definitely one of the best, if not the best hip hop album, to drop recently but that’s not stopping the Chicago emcee from making his rounds in Atlanta to ‘keep pushing’ like Curtis Mayfield. Honestly I don’t feel like Drake would win a lyrical battle against Chi-town’s finest emcee unless someone wrote the battle raps for him. On a blackberry. Ironically enough Drake’s verse on this joint sounds like Rick Ross wrote it.

Common Confirms that ‘Sweet’ Was A Diss Towards Drake (Video)

I said it early on my radio show a few weeks back that the song “Sweet” on Common’s newly released “The Dreamer, The Believer” album was dissing Drake & now Common finally confirms it in his interview with Sway on Sirius XM radio. I believe it all started with Drake’s song “Marvin’s Room” & Serena Williams dancing on video at Drake’s crib. If you’ve been out of the loop Serena Williams & Common have had a very public relationship. Apparently I’m not the only one who saw this coming as most people are blaming Common for provoking this so-called “Beef”….
