One of J. Cole’s most poignant songs he’s made at this point in this career & a favorite amongst many of his core fans. Apparently he shot this video before he even had a record deal. It’s evident even he realized early the depth & importance of this particular record to shoot it in advance.

I thought J. Cole’s album Cole World: The Sideline Story could have been better but it was not bad at all. When looking at the big picture I’m still excited & happy for the young brotha from “FayetteNam” for selling over 250,000 copies in the first week. It shows that the tide is changing back towards more quality artists & subject matter in the mainstream. Especially for a newcomer like this North Carolina emcee & producer who proved that true fans matter the most despite commercial radio outlets around the country like HOT 97 in New York who gave him little to no radio airplay.
