R&B: CJ Hilton – “Cold Summer” (Video)
Baltimore singer & songwriter CJ Hilton has been doing his thing with several of the the R&B joints he’s dropped over the past few months. This joint right here I’ve even played on my hip hop show a few times because it’s just that dope. This joint produced by Salaam Remi has been a favorite in my itunes too since it dropped last month…
CJ Hilton – “Cold Summer”
CJ Hilton continues to impress me with each & every joint that he drops. Not sure if many of the songs I’ve heard from the Baltimore kid are leaks or official releases of any sort, but his type of Hip Hop soul never loses its concrete grittiness while maintaining a certain integrity to the R&B genre as evident in the lyrics & vocals. This particular joint is almost reminiscent of the vibe that D’angelo used to bring in straddling that line between R&B, Soul, & Hip Hop. This joint right here was produced by Salaam Remi who has crafted many quality joints from Nas & many others in the game. Summer is over, but you’d never know that based on the amount of heat that CJ Hilton has been consistently dropping…
CJ Hilton – “So Fresh” (Video)
Mannnnnn I’ve been banging this song out on the radio show for weeks & now the kid from Baltimore, CJ Hilton, drops an official video for this R&B/Hip Hop banger! The only negative to the video is that Nas doesn’t appear in this video version of the song, but the joint still knocks anyway! NIIIICE!!
CJ Hilton – ‘It Doesn’t Feel Right’ feat. 50 Cent
This new R&B cat CJ Hilton is 2 for 2 with the R&B/hip hop bangers…..the first joint he dropped a few months ago with Nas called ‘So Fresh’ was an undeniable banger & now he drops this new one with 50 Cent with the Wu-Tang Clan’s Tearz sample in the mix. Niiiiiiice!
CJ Hilton – ‘So Fresh’ feat. Nas
This new joint from Baltimore native CJ Hilton reminds me of those classic R&B/Hip Hop blend tapes I remember cats like DJ Juice (Trenton,NJ), DJ Ron G, & a few other DJs used to put together in the 90s. The song itself sounds like one of those R&B/Hip Hop mixes within the song itself & with Nas adding some bars you can’t go wrong at all with this banger! Niiiiiiice!
