Best. “Black Panther” Teaser. Ever!! (Trailer)

Okay, so Wakanda is not real. But styling its geography, geopolitics, and people makes the “Black Panther” movie real enough to reward watchers for agreeing to suspend disbelief. In other words, we don’t feel stupid for believing in vibranium-fueled fights… in ancient hidden cities laden with high-tech… spaceship-looking flying back-and-forth… bustling cityscapes where many random vehicles, streets and buildings get wrecked…

If the storytelling is good, we will be here for it all. And from what this trailer is showing us, the storytelling is gonna be good.

Action-packed but so ‘real’ and so good! So really good it’s surreal!

Enjoy the trailer thoroughly.

Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet (Issue #1) [Video]

Watch.

Now, did you get the ‘tingles’ when it was proclaimed that Wakanda is a nation that has NEVER been conquered?? An African nation that has NEVER BEEN CONQUERED! Yeah, that feeling… it’s called PRIDE! Black Panther’s first appearance in Marvel’s cinematic universe – in “Captain America: Civil War” – just happened. But the real happening is going to be the Black Panther movie (and yes, Chadwick Boseman plays the lead; like in the movie). Marvel is not playing with y’all. Too bad we have to wait two years.

But Marvel is serving us T’Challa fiends out here, and catching novices on the Wakandan nation up to speed, with its backstory info-series “Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet.” Issue #1 above.

(This video series features Atlantic columnist Ta-Nehisi Coates, author of the rebooted “Black Panther” comic book series.)

The Murder of Fred Hampton (Documentary Trailer)

‘All Power To The People’ as a concept should not scare us. Fred Hampton’s stance in the above trailer comes through just as plain and clear on grainy archival footage as it would were he standing flat-footed saying it to our faces today: ‘If you are scared of socialism…you are scared of yourselves.’ How deep is that?!

This trailer was made before Fred Hampton’s death when the film was to be called “Black Panther.” It shows Hampton (August 30, 1948 — December 4, 1969) giving a speech on revolution and racism in front of a large audience. Includes glimpses of Panthers Bobby Rush and Bobby Seale and filmmaker Howard Alk. This trailer is not included in the DVD release of the film.

Black History is OUR history, all of ours (not just Black people’s). You should watch this; even after February 29th.

Captain America: Civil War (Trailer)

Okay, Cap and Falcon found Bucky… not The Winter Soldier… good ol’ Bucky! So, all’s well and we can hug and go home right? Aw hell naw. All HELL is about to break loose! Can you say love at first sight? The Captain America side of the Marvel Universe movies has always put incredible stories and action up on the big screen, and it looks like this “Civil War” installment will not disappoint on that front! Cap and Iron Man going IN… on each other? War! And is that Black Panther?? RAW!

Check out the trailer above. And do not make ANY other plans for May 6, 2016.

Cover Story: Man Who Armed Black Panthers Was FBI informant (Video)

Richard Masato Aoki, the man journalist Seth Rosenfeld reports gave the Black Panther Party some of its first firearms and weapons training, was an undercover FBI informer, according to a former bureau agent and an FBI report. One of the Bay Area’s most prominent radical activists of the era, Aoki was known as a fierce militant who touted his street-fighting abilities; even before aligning himself with the Black Panther Party. Now, whether the evidence is shared in this video is borne of the misinformation campaign carried out as part of J. Edgar Hoover’s CoIntelPro (e.g. the Counter-Intelligence Program carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigations) or not is left for you to decide. But this is definitely an interesting watch.
