DJ Premier – Black Fist Friday Mix on Hot 97 NYC (2/17/12)

I saw massive amounts of people tweeting about DJ Premier rocking on Hot 97 in NYC at noon for their Black Fist Friday series in celebration of Black History month.Â At the time I wasn’t in a position to listen in live & as a matter of fact I still haven’t gotten around to fully listening to the mix that Questlove did in honor of J Dilla last week, but I’ll get to that eventually this weekend.Â After a few hours I noticed DJPremierBlog had it up on Primo’s site as well as MissInfo who works at the station. Had to download it & peep it once I had time like now…. I like how DJ Premier started things off with Jeru Tha Damaja’s underground classic “Frustrated N*gga”. Dopeness…

Happy Birthday To The Greatest: Jim Brown

Jim Brown is one of my heroes & easily one of the greatest NFL players of all time. I don’t just admire Jim Brown because of his physical prowess as an athlete back in his playing days, but also how he carries himself as a man & what he stood for. Many black athletes today can learn many lessons from Jim Brown & if they had the opportunity I’d encourage them to seek his counsel.
