As we mentioned in a previous post about DJ Tony Touch’s upcoming project “The Piecemaker 3 (Return Of The 50 Emcees)” due July 9th, the legendary DJ had stated that he’ll be releasing classic never-seen-before footage everyday leading up until his new album release. In episode 5 above Tony Toca unlocks the video vault to footage of Big Pun performing “Off The Books” with The Beatnuts at Rocksteady’s 20th Anniversary show. Miguel – ‘How Many Drinks Remix’ feat. Kendrick Lamar (BTS Video)

Miguel is bringing in fellow L.A. native Kendrick Lamar for the remix to his popular “How Many Drinks?” song that appears on his Grammy nominated ‘Kaleidoscope Dream’ album. The “How Many Drinks” video was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Constellation Jones but check out the behind the scenes video above of what VIBE magazine describes as “the coming kings of rap and R&B” & the trailblazers to carry the baton for the next generation in their latest cover story. 50 Cent and Young Jeezy behind the scenes at the “Major Distribution” video shoot. According to a follow-up comment, Snoop makes an appearance… after coming down from a high-high. Seriously though… I’ve seen a million & one trailers for music videos & behind the scenes clips, but this was was very well put together. Big up to the director for having some creative vision.

Studio Session: Skyzoo x Chi-Ali Record “Jansport Strings Remix” (Video)

Skyzoo’s latest single “Jansport Strings” was a pretty dope tribute to Chi-Ali who was recently released from prison & now back making music. What’s even more interesting is Skyzoo has linked up with Chi-Ali & they’ve recorded the remix at my homie Fokis’s studio in Brooklyn. That’s not only dope, but that’s historic for many reasons. The resulting single, “OMFGOD,” should be out soon; but just to see Hip-Hop being made in this organic way… still… This is what Hip-Hop is at its essence! DJ Khaled’s new album ‘Kiss The Ring’ is on the way, but the track that everyone is talking about is the collaboration he orchestrated with Nas, Scarface, DJ Premier, & the production team Justice League. When I first heard this song I knew it was a definite banger! I’ve often said that sometimes being a good producer doesn’t always involve touching a lot of buttons & equipment, but people who have a great vision can score big. Rick Rubin is a producer who doesn’t play any instruments, but he has great vision & a good ear. Props to DJ Khaled for having the vision for this banger right here. Check the video….

This “Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color” video vignette is such an awesome piece! Check out Brother Ali as he shares a piece of himself – coping with loss (of his friend, Eyedea, and his father), getting back to his foundations, and coming back renewed. This video should actually speak to us all on a personal level. It did to me. I am looking forward to the full-length “Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color” (produced by Jake One). Meek Mill – Bike Life Philly (Video)

I have to admit I do get a rush looking at fearless motorbike videos as cats rip through my hometown of Philly. In a way it takes me back there in a nostalgic sort of way just seeing the old neighborhoods & it just reminds me of the summertime when cats would rip down the blocks. Meek Mill does have a lot going for him with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group but he may need to ease up on riding on these bikes too often. The state of Pennsylvania doesn’t have a helmet law so you don’t have to wear one without getting cited or locked up, but young kids racing through Philly on bikes is becoming a problem because of the rise in fatal injuries. Ironically, from the above clip, Meek Mill almost became one of those statistics. Brothas are taking “L’s” everyday in Philly & Meek has great things going for him so he may need to just chill a little. Slow down Meek Milly….

I love when rare footage gets unearthed & uploaded on the web of because it’s like instant gold for real hip hop heads. Check out this rare footage from behind the scenes of Biggie’s “Warning” video shoot that just popped up on the web yesterday we caught via Missinfo. One of the great things about his video is in the interview is when Biggie keeps things very honest about not being too hollywood by renting out the cribs & things & wanting to do better for his daughter. Later on in the video they also interview a young Sean “Puffy” Combs as well as Biggie’s former business partner Lance “Un” Rivera….
