Looks like some craziness, in a good way. The “Beats” and rhymes and life story of this young producer trying to make it in The Chi… compelling. At least that is what the trailer is teasing…

After The ‘Beats’ Deal Is Done, Jimmy Iovine Will Be A Likely Billionaire. Dr. Dre Will Be… Close (Video)

Oh… close! Closer than me (waaaay closer). In the Businessweek clip above, they cover the numbers behind the deal. Whether the parties settle with a cash deal, or by stock (which allows them to avoid heavy taxation), Interscope’s Jimmy Iovine (who had a bigger share of the company and more personal assets to start) should clear a billion. Dr. Dre stands to scoop $600 million out of the pie.
That’s a damn big scoop. Just not a billion. But it’s okay. Staying in the same circles, Dre could very well be playing in the Billionaire Boys Club one day. Salute to the Diggy Diggy Doc!

Black Milk – Demo Beats 2012

Detroit producer & emcee Black Milk took to his soundcloud page to release some of the beats he’s cooked up for 2012 for his fans’ audio consumption. It’s about time we heard something from Black Milk who seemed to be rather quiet for most of the year. I’m still hoping he drops an official song & video for that ‘Don Cornelius’ joint he teased us with a while back. After listening sitting here listening to these instrumental demo joints, the track that catches my attention the most occurs around the 2:50 mark. That’s that gritty Detroit hip hop most of us fiend for. Black Milk has to stop disappearing like this. I’d like to see Black Milk put out more videos from past albums while in between projects to hold fans over until the new stuff is done. Until he does I guess these demo instrumentals should suffice for how.

LL Cool J Puts The ‘Beats’ On A Burgular In His Home (Video)

TMZ is reporting LL Cool J confronted an intruder in his Los Angeles home while his wife & daughter were there. LL Cool J reportedly broke the burgular’s ribs, jaw, & nose before holding him until police arrived. The intruder will be charged but not before he was taken to the hospital. Eat Em Up L! Chillllllllll… .Eat Em Up L! Hahaaaa! Mama Said Knock You Out…For Realllz!

Michael Rapaport Talks About The ATCQ Documentary At Sundance (Video)

Alot of people were wondering why Phife only attended the Sundance screening in Utah & assumed that most of the brothas didn’t support the film. Ali Shaheed had been on a European tour & couldn’t make Sundance. Seems like before members of the media started making assumptions they should have probably reached out to them individually. Assuming that members of the press had tried at all. I’m still looking forward to seeing the film. A Tribe Called Quest is one of my favorite hip hop groups of all time & I’m also proud to enjoy a friendship with Phife, Jarobi, & Ali Shaheed.
