Estelle – ‘Thank You’ (Video)

Gotta salute Estelle with this video as we see some candid shots of this soulful singer and her life on tour. Cameos in the end included the wicked producer Jazzwad, celebrity dancer John Hype, Beenie Man, Patexx, Iyara, Bawse Dawg and the Grung Gaad himself Bounty Killer as she stopped of in Jamaica. This song is off her album All Of Me and was also featured on the Love Ultra Mix CD – Part Two.
A funny scene is her being led to the stage to perform on the beach and she looking back at security guard like ‘HELP NUHH’ and then her trying to form the ‘A’ with her fingers to rep for ‘The Alliance’. As we celebrate Jamaica’s 50th year of Independence… This reminds me why ‘Jamaica Nice!’

July 5th – Breakfast In Paris (EP)

The UK collective known as July 5th consists of producer VersA Beatz & singer/songwriter Dukus who joined forces for this quality sounding “Breakfast In Paris” project. The duo describe their sound as “Pharrell meets Coldplay” as the music does follow a sort of R&B/Alternative vibe similar to the lane artists like Frank Ocean & The Weeknd have been running with. This 10-song free album/EP does have a slight difference in that their UK background presents another chilled out dynamic that makes this joint all the more impressive. Cali Carma – Tired Of Rap (Album)

Atlanta based emcee Cali Carma drops this new mixtape called “Tired Of Rap” which showcases his ability to show off his ill lyricism, but it also highlights the fact that he’s a bonafide star once he gets the proper spotlight. Most artists can be pigeonholed into one or two types of styles in much the same way a “Conscious” rap artist wouldn’t get airplay in the club & a “Trap rapper” wouldn’t get play from real hip hop enthusiasts & purists. Cali Carma’s “Tired Of Rap” project shows that Cali can navigate various styles within hip hop without it coming off forced, wack, or devoid of creative lyricism. Most of us can get tired of rap, but if more cats like Cali Carma are in the game it would be a lot better. Key bangers off of this joint are “NFL”, “Tired Of Rap”, “Hear Me Out”, “Half Empty”, “Good Love”, “E.D.E.N.”, “Hear Me Now”, & few others I plan to eventually play on my radio show & on my ipod regularly. Sacramento representative Chuuwee has joined forces with The DJBooth, Amalgam Digital and Fly Society to bring fans his latest street release, the Watching the Throne free album. A concept album following the reign and fall of a newly-crowned “king,†the project features 20 original cuts from the buzzmaking emcee. Included on the tracklist are previously-featured, reader-approved cuts “Re-Siege the Thrown†and “Joe Jackson (A Tyrant’s Rage).â€
Joining Chuuwee on the guest tip throughout Watching the Throne are Sundown (of Actual Proof), Sean Boog, Makeshift, Keno, Haz Solo, PCH, Abstract Ninjaa. As you watch this reggae video, I am sure you ALL KNOW what the reference to ‘Sugar Cane’ is but Shaggy does a great job of selling one of the reasons why female tourists visit the Caribbean islands.
